Took a stroll in Alppila and Kallio...

Linnanmäki amusement park is one of the better known attractions in Helsinki among the kids

A new fancier roller coaster is being built there

Although the old wooden one (seen in the centre of this picture and also in the first one) is the traditional favourite

No winter maintenance

The former Library for the Blind is nowadays hosting a daycare

And this building was originally School for the Blind, but now functions as advisory centre for enterprises with fancy name "Yrityslinna" (Enterprise castle)

Helsinki City Theatre

This building hosts "Snellu", Specialized Youth Work centre of the Parish Union of Helsinki

That museum tram luckily does not operate winter time.

Few new pictures:

Töölönlahdenkatu (building on the left: Central Library Oodi)

From left: Helsinki Music Centre, the tower of Finnish National Museum, Hakasalmi Villa, Finlandia Hall

Hämeentie (Tavastvägen in Swedish) is a major road from central Helsinki towards northeast - currently it is under heavy reconstruction and only one half is in use and the traffic is currently restricted to busses and taxis

One of the side streets towards Torkkelinmäki hill from Hämeentie is Sakarinkatu (Zachrisgatan) - I have some fond memories of this street since I used to live there, sadly I took this picture from an angle that hides my former home building
