I read in the papers last night that 1.7 billion people are now confined across the world, so we should all have some confinement images to share, then, right?? Personally I'm trying to take at least a few photos every day, mainly outside of home since we are allowed to go out...

From yesterday:

Confinement is having a positive impact on air quality
I detest bugs, especially spiders.

From my confinement bicycle ride last sunday.

Entrance to the fort of Oelegem. The white flag on top is not because the fort is surrendering (they already did that in 1914 ) but a white flag or cloth on the houses and other buildings are a symbolic token of appreciation for all people working in the hospitals and care institutions.

Pieter, I have a similar one for you, but at the same time, completely different, as it's a funeral parlor, deemed "essential" and open for business.
I detest bugs, especially spiders.

Use of a shopping cart is immediately mandatory!
There are no shopping baskets available any more
There are door checks

great idea, Brian! and great pics y'all!
(funeral parlor rather shocking, 'peinture fraiche' surreal?
funerals are 'still allowed' here as well, with no more than 30 people present!   ).

familiar with the Loesje posters?
saw an oldie the other day, that could easily be translated to recent happenings?
< the most contagious of all during the Mexican flu was PANIC! >
(what's going on by no means funny though).

did no one mention yet what happened to the toilet paper in this country?

'every'body grocery hoarding! (in dutch we call it 'hamster-ing', after the rodent).
stood in line behind 'a hamster', astounding!
then the HoReCa wholesale distributers opened their doors to all public, and guess what they ran out of within a day?

dear customer,
you can wipe off you hands here with hand cleaning gel and use some on a tissue to clean the handle of your shopping cart, -basket or hand scanner with

(in bad dutch)

hoarding soap...

Jumbo would like to help as many customers as possible.
therefore max. 2 products per customer.
THX for your understanding.

2 of nothing each!

last and lonely coffee

hoarding toilet paper...

toilet paper on the left!
(what's left are paper towels)

Those shop pictures by angora reminds me the scene I encountered almost two weeks ago (after the first announcements of the pandemia related restrictions in Finland were released):

Bread shelves on a hypermarket
(the ones behind this one had few hotdog buns and some glutein free products left)

And I recall there was empty space in number of other shelves too (including of course toilet papers!). I think that today, people do no longer hoard that much, although larger purchases and less frequent shopping are the new norm (my last shop visit was on last Saturday).
