I normally don't like IR photos but those from cemetery are quite good looking. I'm not sure what it is but those just look right.

I was surprised not to have seen the monument in F264 like that before from you or Pieter .

In and outbound there was a (diffferent) young ladyon board to identify and count birds, porpoises, orca's etc. during the sail.

Unbelievable, we went for a week end of September and kept this tread going well into November. Never actively enjoyed a holiday so long after it ended

Thanks Macca, as you can imagine we had a great time touring Scotland.


OK, last series from me, arrival in IJmuiden


p238: The first thing you see appearing through the haze when approaching IJmuiden is the factory of Fred's employer



p239: Once between the piers is becomes a bit clearer



p240: And once in the harbour you can clearly see the big heaps of coal and ore, the moving equipment and the steam plumes from the cokes and pellet plants



p241: In the middle of the harbour entrance is Forteiland, a miltary structure from the late 19th century. Used in both world-wars and now no longer relevant in modern warfare

So, that was it from me . Thanks to Domien and Fred for the excellent company (where do we go next?) and Fred for all the driving. It was a splendid experience and not only due to the photography but we just had a very good time all together.

Also again thanks to everybody who commented on the thread. That interaction makes it more interesting to keep posting and giving some background with the photos. I'm glad you all enjoyed it!
