Great Fred, you're all caught up now. IR worked well on the cemetery, allthough I would have kept F246 is the same grey tint as the others. F252 (train in motion) is great, didn't think of using a longer shutter time while hanging over the wall! And you guessed right, F265 must have been exciting for you to discover there (I think).
As we're leaving Edinburgh the last place in the UK was Newcastle upon Tyne, and that limited to Tyne harbour. Here's my series what we saw just before and during the departure of our ferry back to IJmuiden p231: We felt safe under the protection of the Dutch Navy (Zr Ms De Ruyter) ![]() p232: Frontal view ![]() p233: Just before we departed an interesting convoy passed us ![]() p234: You can judge the size of these pipes by comparing them with the people on board (I guess they are windmill foundations) ![]() p235: Leaving the harbour (and they even decoupled the tugboat on the rear a little later) ![]() p236: A pilot shuttle whizzing by ![]() p237: Bye bye UK, we had a wonderful time there ![]() All A7ii + Tamron 28-200 Di III RXD One more series to go for me (arrival in IJmuiden) |

I normally don't like IR photos but those from cemetery are quite good looking. I'm not sure what it is but those just look right.

Proud that Wojtek, me, and the bear are well photographed. Thanks.
![]() I had missed the P237 tower. I just saw the fishermen I'm glad the boat said BARGE, otherwise, we wouldn't have known it. P232 shows what went wrong in D4 (EaRlY in this series) F260 and F264 were necessary for a Scotland trip. thx And the last GB shots D197 THE boat transporting us back ![]() D198 The Dyxym staff car, driven by Fred, transported us throughout the trip (thx ![]() ![]() D199 Shooting Phoneboots ![]() D200 ( ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() D201 Tyne ![]() |

Thanks Macca, as you can imagine we had a great time touring Scotland.
OK, last series from me, arrival in IJmuiden p238: The first thing you see appearing through the haze when approaching IJmuiden is the factory of Fred's employer ![]() p239: Once between the piers is becomes a bit clearer ![]() p240: And once in the harbour you can clearly see the big heaps of coal and ore, the moving equipment and the steam plumes from the cokes and pellet plants ![]() p241: In the middle of the harbour entrance is Forteiland, a miltary structure from the late 19th century. Used in both world-wars and now no longer relevant in modern warfare ![]() p242: Pilot shuttle ![]() p243: Behind us some different style vessels were entering the harbour ![]() p244: Big and small, who has more fun ![]() ![]() p238 & 243: A7Rii + Sony 70-300G all others A7ii + Tamron 28-200 Di III RXD So, that was it from me . Thanks to Domien and Fred for the excellent company (where do we go next?) and Fred for all the driving. It was a splendid experience and not only due to the photography but we just had a very good time all together. Also again thanks to everybody who commented on the thread. That interaction makes it more interesting to keep posting and giving some background with the photos. I'm glad you all enjoyed it! |
