Well, yeah, mass production If you want more of a collectors item, take a look at the Minolta AF 9000: the first professional autofocus camera and the only autofocus camera with manual film advance!

Newly purchased lenses:

- Sony 20-70/4 FE G

Send help.

Has it sated your GAS for this month?

For a long time to come. This was a rare opportunity to make a large purchase thanks to closing out a sale I had been working on for over a year. Only felt right to celebrate accordingly

Overall I have been doing well this year until today. I pretty much blew my budget for the year today. My local camera shop had a full suite of Zeiss a-mount lenses traded in. I had been looking to get some, but ended up buying all of them. All came with boxes and paperwork. Let’s not talk about how much I paid, but I did trade in a number of lenses and negotiated an additional 10% off since I was upgrading…

24mm f2
50mm f1.4
85mm f1.4
135mm f1.8
16-35mm f2.8 v2
24-70mm f2.8 v2

I think I am done for a while…

I'd never do that, but I have the opposite problem -- kinda, sorta.

I keep finding gear that is so ridiculously cheap, I can't, with a good conscience, pass it up. Even when I don't need it!

I'd never be able to sleep at night.

I must admit though that much of the stuff I've resold for a good profit -- but I still have a long way to go to recovery.

That's quite the splurge for one day of GAS. 6 lenses has to some kind of record. I can see why you think that should keep you going for a while.

Absolutely never.
However I have no idea how I ended up owning 5 digital bodies, 5 film bodies and more than 70 lenses, really it just happened out of nowhere

I think they mate - noticed some lenses are smaller? Those are baby lenses and the bigger ones are the parent lenses

10 cameras and 70+ lenses may make you the all-time GAS champion!

My only excuse is that I got my oldest camera (one of the 5 film cameras) in 1978 and oldest lens of the 70+ was bought by my father in 1950. At least it proves I'm a consistent and long term addict, which gives very little opportunity for detox

Well, 10 cameras and 70+ lenses. Now at least I have something to aspire to. When I last counted I have 7 digital bodies and 2 film bodies in a-mount. Then 3-4 more film bodies including a Rolleiflex TLR and a Leica IIIc that were my grandfathers. Then 30 or so a-mount lenses and another dozen lenses for the film bodies. I think my problem is that I tend to gravitate to the rare and odd-ball lenses because of curiosity.

As I collect more gear, a better question isn't what I will buy, but rather, what am I willing to part with? The answer is all too few, so I will burden my wife and child with what to do with them when I pass. Perhaps a Viking burial by putting me on a wooden ship, piling all my gear on my corpse, and then set it ablaze, and push me to sea. If so, my only request is to put the 100-200mm f4.5 at my feet, because every good Viking burial includes having a dog at your feet.

Yes, after the transition from A-mount to E-mount about 5,5years ago I have suffered from lots of those attacks of GAS. Selling A-stuff and buying E-stuff. At the moment my collection of lenses ranges almost seamless from 12mm to 400 with both primes (14/18/28/35/50/85/90/135mm) and zooms (12-24/16-35/28-75/70-300/100-400mm), with an additional A7iv and A7iii .

GAS can occur when some of the primes come available in a faster version for a reasonable price on the second hand market.

So far GAS is rather under control, I hope .

Sh*t, I obtained 2 New camera bodies. Somehow the old rangefinder of my father was in a cupboard, a Minolta A5 from the early 60s.

And I rediscovered my own old Minolta Dynax 505si.

Makes my collection to a Total of 5 bodies (2 digital, 3 analogue).

On the positive side Harm, you're catching up to Pieter At this rate you may overtake his camera tally.

I've sold this year an old α7R, my α9 and α7Riii, and picked up the FX30 and α1. So it's nearing the end of September and I still only have 2 digital cameras...

But its also nearing the end of September and I haven't bought anything since August

Yes, but it was justified.
My theme for Octoberfest will be gear porn. I did lenses for an April foolishness and barely made it out of the Sony and Sigma brands. I'll do bodies this time 'round
