Our loyal Buddy in better times at the beach, he was a miniature schnautzer which we adopted last year when his former owner passed away.

He slipped away from us last thursday night in the fourth epileptic seizure of the day which the vet, despite all her great efforts, couldn't stop.

I hope he's now reunited with his first master in a world where he can continue running and having fun without the burden of his epilepsy.

We only had him for 14 month, but he will be in our hearts forever.

Pieter, sorry to hear about the tough times you're experiencing. Very sad to let a much loved pet go.

Thanks Joe, despite being almost 10 he was a happy and playfull dog who had a great time with us with plenty of nice walks together and running around in a big garden. We hoped to be able to give him another 3-4 happy years but it wasn't to be. The house is very empty now

Here's another one from the same shoot at the beach:

That is such sad news Pieter. A lost pet will never be forgotten.. but neither the good memories of him.

o Pieter, I am so so sorry to hear this saddening news.
my heart goes out to -all of- you...

I remember thinking how fantastic it was that you welcomed him in your family, providing him a loving home and a happy life again...
and you did! but I know how much this must hurt.
and wish you all the strenght...

'remember not the strife.
please do not dwell upon my death,
but celebrate my life'

(of course he'll be running happily! until one day, hopefully many, many decades from now, he'll meet up again with you too.
as love is the most powerful energy of all. it can be transformed, but never be destroyed).

Very sorry to hear this sad news Pieter. A shame Buddy could not enjoy these extra last couple of years of care and love from you and the family.

I know how important a pet can be.
Here is shot I took today from Fuut, my father in law's best friend these days now he is alone. The dog follows him like a shadow as if he is afraid to lose him too.

sorry about your loss, Pieter.
Makes you realize how strong a bond a dog is able to forge, even in such a relatively short period time.

Here's one of lizzy this evening, after a nice summer day.
