We had our annual Fireworks display here at work the other week - it's used as a charity fundraiser with the proceeds being matched by the business for local charities so it's always well attended.

It was going to be my 'last attempt to get it right' as far as fireworks are concerned, so I went fully equipped with tripod, remote release and bagged a 'front row' position. Finally, I think I got close to what I wanted to achieve with the camera set to ISO 100; f/8.0 and Bulb settings of anywhere between 1 and a few seconds. Hopefully you'll like these as much as I do...

For starters:

Lines and Bursts

'Fire Grasses for MiPr'

Burst frenzy

Fireworks, Mist and Moon (bottom left)

Firework Flowers

Multi Burst

The Dandelion

70's Disco

Hadron Collider

Delicate

Before, After and During

Finale

Best regards, Neil.
My Mantra: "Comment on other's work as you would wish to have yours commented upon". Go on - it's fun!

This time to celebrate the New Year (and century) city of Helsinki held two events: first earlier in the evening there was event aimed for children. I didn't feel childish enough, so I skipped the music performaces, but at I had my camera on a tripod at the outdoor balcony of Finlandia Hall ready to capture the fireworks at 17:30. Too bad, my choice of a lens, Sony FE 1.4/24 GM proved to be not wide enough to capture whole scene as the fireworks were launched from two seperate positions and the strong cold wind didn't help either...

1.

Now, for the usual fare around the midnight, I again skipped the music performaces (too much rap for my taste) and this time decided to try alternative viewpoint and set my tripod on Töölönlahti waterfront in Hesperia park and this time the results were much better...

Nice series Heikkie and a Happy New Year too!
I was hoping to shoot some fire works this year, but wih less than 50m sight due to heavy fog on New year's eve, I had to shelve my plans for another year.
