Thanks for the well wishes. Sorry it's taken so long to get back on Twitter.

I've had to take a photography break as last year was, well, horrible.
In January I was hospitalised with bags of IV antibiotics to fight cellulitis.
Later my father died, suddenly, and that was pretty upsetting.
Then I had an accident with a motorist on my bicycle, which wrecked my bike, split my helmet and gave me a concussion. And another trip to hospital.
Then an uncle died.
Then a work colleague died.
Then another uncle died.
There was a bunch of other stuff as well. At my dad's funeral an old school friend had a private conversation with me on how he'd been molested as a kid.
People at work stopped asking me how I was getting on. They didn't want to hear.
I didn't have the motivation to do much photography.

Anyway, 2020 isn't much of an improvement, but hope you are all safe and well.

Ha ha, yes, I'm called Brendan. There was a horrible thing involving a stalker about 10 years ago that lasted for 3 years. She even turned up here once or twice. Anyway, it generated a keen commitment to anonymity on the webs...

Brendan,
So sorry to read of your travails over that past horrible year.
Hopefully all resolving as time passes, although now we are all living in challenging times and the world is in lock-down. Thankfully NZ acted quickly and decisively and looks to emerge well from all that.
Looking forward to seeing you get back to photography and your Dyxum interactions when the restraints are lifted.
Best wishes.

That all sounds quite unfortunate Brendan. Hope 2021 will be much better.

Happy birthday and many happy returns!

Wish your troubles will fade away in the near future and better times - for photography as well - return!

TY Brendan (what a nice name!). TY for sharing. so truly sorry for what you had to endure! my heart goes out to you...
as horrible and painful what you had to live through must have been, what matters in the end is your reaction to it?
you don't really need your co-workers (..... them?!) to determine how you feel.
(never ever grant anyone that much power over you!). if it helps, we'll listen?
still- pls try not to dwell upon misfortune or even the death of loved ones?
suppose your father wouldn't want you to feel bad when you think of him? would he deserve that?
instead- you could cherish the love between the 2 of you and carry it with you where ever you go, no one can take that away from you. nor your memories for that matter.
love IS stronger than death?!! a gift!
(easy to say? don't know. I for one am alone in this world. (being an only child, a widow, an orphan. no kids. (been pregnant with the child of a perfect stranger *grin*, he was a sperm donor ;-), but quit after many mistakes at the hospital)).
so all of 'my people' are dead. but still part of my life, I can feel their love every day. as well as gratitude. and count my blessings).

try to see what you do have, Brendan? and I'm pretty sure life will get better.
whenever you need it, comfort will be on your path anyway, if only you pay attention?
(just my 2 cents? ).
take care?
