The F2.5 is sharp in center wide-open with fairly decent background rendering. The later 28mm F2 is much flatter field but not as sharp in the center with much busier backgrounds.

Just picked up the Sony 24 f1.4 for £460 from mpb. Cosmetically and optically perfect, but contacts not functioning. Will send straight through to Pencoed to hopefully get fixed (or replaced as within 5 years) for their flat fee and come in under £600. Bit of a gamble but fingers crossed!

UPDATE: Not a good deal - seems Sony repairs Pencoed have changed their repair price structure since I last used them. It used to be a flat fee for repairs (and replacement if they couldn't repair it and lens was under 5 years old) but now it's fully costed parts and labour. Lens itself was in perfect condition but no connection to camera, so thought repair could still be affordable. Thought at worst I could use it manually but the focus of these newer lenses is digital (i.e. no physical connection between focus ring and the lens elements), so couldn't even focus manually. Estimate came back as over £600 so returned lens to mpb for full refund.

Would do the same again though - he who dares Rodney, he who dares

Depends what you mean by "worth" and what the going rate for one is in your country .
Canada does seem an expensive country to buy stuff in , I assume your in Canada as the link shows it sold in Canadian $ .

The price of these have gone up in recent years due to supply and demand , they used to sell for around £20 ten or so years ago .

I've had a couple of silver topped ones for years ( probably 20 years now ) but always wanted an all black one .
I finally got one this summer .
Normally there listed over here at £80+ BIN on eBay ( yours was bought for £111 UK £ ) and silly prices at dealers which never sell . I always though was overpriced , so you see the same ones relisted forever .

I picked my all black one up for less than £50 , which I thought was fair .
The seller wasn't sure if the back was o.k as it didn't sit right , but what else would you expect with little or no light seals !?
This was clearly shown in the pictures .

Maybe I just got really lucky ?

Check your light seals as well , unless it's recently been done , it'll need doing . A simple DIY job .

Regardless, enjoy your new camera .
The XD7 was my first manual focus camera I bought when everyone had dumped manual focus gear for autofocus cameras , before digital started to take hold .
I think they were about £20 ( both , not one !) including some lenses and a load of expired film .
It was worth it then for the film alone .
Between them and the lenses they came with I could probably get £300 , not a bad return on £20 investment for gear no-one wanted anymore .

C & C welcome.

Incidentally, IIRC, These were marketed as XD for the Asian markets , XD-7 for European markets and XD-11 for the USA .

Mine is marked as an XD-7 so was always a European model , I thought at one time all black models were only available in the Asian market , but clearly not .

My cheapest A-mount lens now is an 18-55mm SAM I recently found in a thriftshop for € 17,50 complete with a Hama Skylight MC filter. Both as new! Once I sold the second Alpha 100 body with the 18-70mm kitlens. I expected more or less the same IQ but this 18-55mm is so much better! Bought it just for fun, but I'm gonna use this lens for exact the same reason.....
Quit a lot of ALPHA and NEX gear, a nice collection of Sigma lenses, Dynax and M42 stuff, Gitzo's, Visico's and lots of video-equipment

Bought open box 85 f1.4 CZ for $650, sadly lens was severely uncentered. Sony was not able to repair it (April 2022), but sent me a brand new copy, which is excellent.
Don't forget to keep breathing

"one man's death is another man's bread"

Bought a Voigtlander 4.5/15 (III) e-mount from a local seller near me who had 19(!) of these same lenses for a special-sphere-concept-360-degree-one-of-a-kind-camera('s) project that went south...

My earlier copy of this lens I sold off a few months ago. After 3 years of shooting with it I finaly found out why I kept getting akward results while shooting with the aperture wide open; it was decenterd
Been on the fence for a good deal on another copy
235 euro for a A+++ condition lens with original box, caps and papers; incredible!

He had 13 more copies left in more or less the same condition. If any one want to get his/her hands on one, PM me.
