And one day later, on the evening of Dec 18.

"The Dec 2020 conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter"

a7 + Minolta MD 200/2.8 + MD 2x TC 300-S

And since then it's overcast here; mainly high fog, so most likely no luck in capeturing the great conjunction between the two planets on Monday, Dec 21
The next one will be in 2080

Great captures of the conjunction Michael!

Just a little "Happy New Years" post...

First a snap with my A99ii and 180 Maksutov Telescope... well, two actually, since I could not fit in one frame even using a .5X reducer. (Scope is 2700mm native) Opens to a 1280px image. Dec 4th.

Next, my last work of 2020, Dec 23rd's effort. Opens to full size. Shot with a ZWO 183MM camera on a Skywatcher 120ED telescope.

And last on 180MAK from same night, a shot from one of my first clips taken with a new high speed camera I picked up - a 2mp ZWO ASI290MM. The seeing was not great for bigger aperture, but shooting IR (using a filter that blocks all visible light and records only in IR wavelength which is "steadier" ) and using a ton of images and "lucky imaging" I was still able to get something useable. This is from a video file of 10,000 frames (at about 150fps) in raw format captured in a little over a minute. (20GB file) I then stacked the best 150 of the 10000 frames for this image.

Best wishes for all in 2021!!

Mike

There's no such thing as too many lenses.

I like #2, Fred. I've tried to capture the exact same pic while showing the wispy clouds in the past but couldn't.
More Dyxumer, less photographer.

Thanks Mike!
Can never achieve your clear telescope moon shots, so have to think of alternatives
