Playing around with my new toys: NEX-F3 and a Minolta 100mm f4 Macro Rokkor-X, with the dedicated 1:2 - 1:1 converter.

I think these are mediocre for sharpness, probably limitation of the lens and camera combined. Can't remember specific aperture... somewhere between 5.6 and 11. This one isn't doctored up, straight out of the camera RAW and converted to JPEG with Lightroom.

The days have been short and cold, so I shot some peppers from last year's garden to warm things up.

More tube porn... this time an RCA 6AS7G that I use for a headphone amplifier. This is kind of an abstract shot that I was going for...

nice stuff GlassEye!

I missed my Sony 70-400G ever since I started using the Tamron 150-600mm. The SAL70400G is still good as gold!

Wang, that is really nice use of 70-400.
I really like all three with last one as my favorite one.
The background is rendered really smothly.

How small is small?
Well, if it's bigger than 23x16mm, then it is huge!

Thanks! I am starting to think about using close up filters with it, might be more fun!

It does look good - no need for any more filters or magnification there... I tried tubes and a Raynox DCR150 close up filter on my 70-300g (way back) and it seemed to work well. I've not tried on my 70-400G though. I might give it a try too
