Christer, I think you nailed it this time. Especially the second is a very nice image, the cross is sufficient in the foreground and really pulls you in the image and into the depth with the trees on the hill. This first works as well for me.

Thank you Pieter. It feels good to "bury" this assignment with two pics from a cemetery

@ Misi
The foreground interest has to lead the eye to something of interest in the background, and I can't say that you have succeeded with this one. There's nothing wrong with the foreground or the middle but there's nothing at the more distant points that catches the eye. Please have another try. |

Hi Again - not very sure about this one ! - i was thinking about somthing in the country - lying on the floor and featuring some rocks or whatever that might look something like the background scene, mountain etc- chance would be a fine thing :)
So instead we have manchester city centres hospital/university area ;( im sure theres something very wrong with it - so hope you can tell me what ? ![]() |

@Dudger: Dave, I think that foreground element (fence) and background (building) are too close to each other to serve the purpose of this assignment. The detail in the fence and window are competing with each other as well. Please try again. Thanks... Brian

@jvsanchez: Lots of foreground but no real background of interest to draw the viewer to. I know the figure there is your new and beautiful wife, but for the uninitiated observer it's just a very small person standing there. So pls. try again.
@goldsmid: Avery nice picture but even though there is foreground it's quite dark and more like a frame then a real subject that captures the fereground interest and then leads the viewer to the background. It's the light differences that draw the viewer to the clock tower, not so much the foreground subject. So also for you it's please try again. |

@goldsmid, nice shot and good foreground interest. I only remember something similar from a time back (don't know from you or another member). Was this shot taken with this assignment in mind or or are you "mining" older shots in your collection to see what fits. According to the rules (#2) only the former is allowed.
