Not really a new subject - flowers from the same bush.

The Tamron is showing its limitations here, but it's what I've got with me.


A58, Tamron 16-300 @ 180mm, 1.6s, f11, ISO 100. Cropped one edge only.

Thanks Brian, I would submit a couple of Low Key entries, but Windows Update has seen fit to render my laptop useless. Just what you don't want to happen when you're on a long holiday! I am trying to rescue some pictures, hopefully I shall be able to give you something to judge soon.

After 3 years, here we go again...

My first attempt in HK. I'm struggling with the shadows. I put a LED-light at 5300K at the right, a ring flash on the left in front of a mirror, struggling with some faint shadows.

Holy s**t, very difficult.



My first reaction: a bit grey. The background is an ordinary piece of paper, which is never really white.

So, surprise me (or not)

The outline of the subject is distinct around the entire perimeter. I suggest trying a shallower DoF to let the edge of the subject blend subtly in some areas.

For HK and LK, we want to see the subject properly exposed and some part of the subject blending smoothly into the background.

Ok, been reading and looking with help our mutual friend G.

I hope I succeeded now..



I used the almost white circular lampshade of an unused hanging light as a means to spread the light in the background. Also I shaded the main light (at the right) and played with the distance of the ring flash.



I hope this one will pass. It is a struggle.
