Lee, You have certainly met the first part of the assignment, but I'm not convinced of the second (stronger emotional impact).

You will enhance the beauty of an object/person/scene by a low exposure and increasing the contrast for a dark and moody look while still maintaining most tones in the histogram below 128 with only very few above. The low exposure will give you dark areas and few light details and lines can bring out lots of texture in the surfaces. You will use this style to produce an image that carries stronger emotions than a normal exposed copy of it would possess.

Please try again.

Cheers... Brian

I accept but disagree; the gaudy colours of the season are muted by darkness and accented from the depressive with tiny bright accents, half remembered in nostalgia, to lift the spirit, which is the point of these mid winter festivals.

@LAbernethy: Lee, I'll ignore the title and give you a pass. I don't give a hoot about the vacuum, but the whole scene works, even with the motion blur.

Cheers... Brian

@BearairCactus: Roger, after some consultation with other AMAEs, I am going to ask you to try again. It would have been a pass if not for the highlight in the uppre-right corner and the gold highlight on the dolls neck.

Cheers... Brian
