@ Blue-Eyed-Monkey, sorry for not responding sooner. Brian is out and I promised to keep an eye on the assignments during his absence but I'm not really paying attention
![]() I think both shots are a pass, I always find that a very slight asymmetry in the symmetry assignment provides a pleasing tension. Both shots have that attribute and are both executed well! |

I have come to really like the streetlighting in Le Dorat.

@Phil Wood: There is a lot of black space, but the lamps are symmetrically aligned on the vertical midline for a pass. Cheers... Brian

Thanks Brian - it took a bit of effort to get the lamps aligned that close to symmetrical, after two evenings attempting it hand held I had to resort to my somewhat rickety £2 tripod for the third attempt.
This was my first shot with symmetry in mind - but I worried that the slightly offset double symmetries would jar. ![]() A58, Tamron 16-300 @ 45mm, 1/25, f4.5, ISO 3200 Edited by Phil Wood - 20 May 2018 at 09:00 |

@Phil Wood: It's a good shot, but I might have dinged you for not being directly under the fan. Cheers... Brian

I played with it a bit but could only crop one side (in this case the top) to centre the 'fan', which is actually an array of old fashioned glowing wire heaters - the churches round here tend to be at refrigerator temperatures, lovely on a hot day.
With a little more PP: ![]() I shall now look at a Pattern entry... |

@Harm vb: a bit of asymmetry behind the grill, but as pass nonetheless.
Cheers... Brian |

Thnxs, but a little asymmetry behind the symmetric grill will do, I guess?
Imperfect perfection or asymmetric symmetry😇. |
