Week 23
A: Creative ![]() Here I suspect I might be pushing the Board's software a little, and apologies if this doesn't work and I have to delete the post. When I saw the Women's Tour of Britain go through Faringdon last week I took 50 or 60 shots to get the whole crew whizzing by. I have now turned these into an animated GIF (above), which can also be accessed directly at Flickr, https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52158990950_16d743a5b6_o.gif. Update: yes, animated GIFs can be run on Dyxum ![]() Edited by Howard_S - 20 June 2022 at 00:17 |

![]() Devon lanes and farmsteads | A7 and Minolta AF 24-85mm F3.5-4.5 | f/8.0 | 30.0 mm | 1/60 s | ISO 1250 This time I find myself in North Devon, walking the lanes around Romansleigh, near South Molton. This is Ravilious territory, which is why perhaps I was attuned a little to his way of seeing things. |

Week 24
A: Creative ![]() St Andrew's double rainbow | A5000 and E PZ 16-50 | 3 frame +/- 2 EV HDR For various reasons I haven't been able to get out and do photography this past week and then on Sunday night this double rainbow showed up 3 minutes before sunset. Rainbows rarely show up in this part of the sky and it seems to emanate from the local church tower, hence the title. Edited by Howard_S - 22 June 2022 at 10:13 |

![]() St Non | A7 III and FE 28mm F2 | f/8.0 | 1/125 s | ISO 25600 I shall have to start using my prime lenses again - this is another interior high ISO shot from St David's cathedral, this time of an icon of St Non, the mother of St David. This is a contemporary artwork by Sarah Crisp. |

Week 25
A: Creative ![]() Mount Place | A7 and Samyang AF 35mm F2.8 | f/4.0 | 1/60 s | ISO 125 We had our monthly photowalk on Thursday and there were two Dyxum members there so you might even call the event (for the two of us) a sub-Micro Dyxum Meetup. Notwithstanding that, here is Mount Place - an unrestored corner of Jericho near the canal. A magnet for photographers because of the texture and tonality of the corner building, and this evening even showing a bit of street life. |

![]() Mr Fips and Tweedy | A7 III and Tamron SP 70-300mm F4-5.6 USD | f/5.6 | 70.0 mm | 1/160 s | ISO 3200 As a reminder, each week I am choosing a photo from the archives from the same week number and going and backwards and forwards through the years - last week it was 2018, this week it is 2019. The good folk at Olympus UK used to organise events to try out their cameras and generally persuade folk to upgrade or jump ship. Oxford used to be on their roster of places to visit and in 2019 they staged a free (to us) showing of Giffords Circus with carte blanche to shoot what we liked. We could even use our own cameras! (TBF I got some great results with the E=M1X and the Pro series lenses). Tweedy (on the right) is their star clown and there was a riot of colour in this stage of the show. |

I've been mainly absent from commenting on my co-150 challenge participants, first vacation and then a lot of other duties left my time for Dyxum limited.
But I'll try to pick it up again now ![]() On this page the animated gif of the lady cyclists whizzing by was impressive, and surprisingly the forum software did't balk at such a file. The other week 23 images were strong as well, but for me the top of the bill is the week 26 creative shot, well composed, lots to see and interesting to figure out exactly how you took it. |

You can see the April Foolishness 2022 exhibition here Another great show of the talent we have on Dyxum

Hi Howard
Have noticed you've been posting some great images and am now catching up. Highlights for me from this page are first up, the Week 23 Creative. As a keen road cyclist myself, seeing those images (and familiar streets) appear as an animated sequence was great. The Week 24 creative shot of the double rainbow had both vivid colours and a clever composition, ending the rainbow in the buildings you selected. Well done. For Week 25, the archive shot of Mr Flips and Tweedy is the stand out. A moment frozen by the camera and oodles of colour. It has a dynamic that is impressive. For Week 26, I again like the Creative shot of Gaia- it is such an amazing image. Well done. |
