That's a good one. Normally, people seem to suggest focusing on the eyes but in this case the whiskers are definitely the star of the show.

Stopped at the side of the road to take a couple Ocean/ship shots.... and this guy was there for a few moments. Snagged one shot.

A99ii + Minolta 300/2.8 + 1.4 TC, cropped some - deer was in center of my frame.

Unfortunately got a rather large feral population of these on this side of the country, through mostly stick to farmland in the outskirts. But with the urban sprawl more and more are getting pushed into new spots, guessing these have been displaced by several new estates being built on what was used to be farms.

I'm unsure what this animal is called but it was kind enough to patiently pose for his picture

It looks like a marmot. The ones I have encountered like to pose for the camera.

Allan - seems he/she saw you and the intensity of the gaze towards us is just amazing. Is this in the wild or otherwise? Great shot irrespective though

    Best regards, Neil.

    Hi Neil

    Thanks.
She was busy hunting at the time, but having a rest on an anthill when I took this, so yes, this was taken in the wild as are all my wild life images. We were at a private lodge in the Sabi Sands reserve which is part of the greater Kruger National Park here in South Africa. I had to use fill in flash as it was late afternoon/early evening, so hence the mesmerizing gaze

    Regards
    Allan

    Pronghorn on Antelope Island, Utah.

Commonly known in North America as an Antelope, and the island's namesake, it is not an Antelope. Wikipedia says the pronghorn's closest living relatives are the giraffes and okapi.

Allan, that's a great shot of the leopard sniffing, with its narrowed eyes.
