Other than #5 which does not seem to fit the series, this is a fantastic set of images - simple, clean, emphasizing line, shape (and color in the first few) and shadow. Wonderful group of images in the tradition of Harold Feinstein, to paraphrase him: "Show the viewer something so they feel like they are seeing it for the first time." Gorgeous set of a theme which quite unexpectedly shows an aesthetic value! All photos are very skillfully executed. I very much like the abstract variations (##4, 6-9 - with #4 as my favorite, despite the attraction of the golden hour). But IMO #3 and especially #5 stand out. #5 is perfect in terms of light, color and composition. It might be a profane theme but I think it is very difficult to take photographs in such a technical environment - and you have pulled off that image in an absolutely convincing manner! Thank you all so much for the kind words and compliments. Glad you like it. A young family walking by asked me why I took pictures from that plant. Only the young father had some appreciation for what I was doing  .It was an extra challenge given that I only could view it all from one single side only and behind a fence. @ Roger Rex: Point taken, but I included that one in the set since it was the same location, the same time and the same light (and liked it myself ). Also, one could argue that the drain, the fence or the BW version are different. Nevertheless your comment is appreciated and will at least make me consider my choises more carefully in the future.

Follow-up - here's what makes this an exceptional series: most of us would consider this a mundane subject if we passed by it and probably wouldn't even consider it as a worthy photographic subject yet what is shown here is inspiring and interesting art. ------------- Hatred corrodes the container it is carried in. http://rogerrex.zenfolio.com/ |

A lesson to look more closely! This is a great series. Real precision. Starts off really well and gets better. Not being lazy saying I couldn't pick a favourite. I guess it'd be in the last four if I absolutely had to. ------------- Paul aka maewpa |

Excellent work. Images like these rely on very careful framing done by a good eye. Well done. I have to agree with the preference for the images with the dome, but I'm also fond of the first couple. Good set.
