At the moment, and most daily working moments when I'm not shooting, I'm studying https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trivium - The Trivium ... As I watch RAW turn to JPG, or wait for the videos to render. My music needs are satisfied by searching for video sound tracks. Sometimes I'll put on a little Hendrix, Zeplin, or Pink Floyd while I edit. Studio sound track is from Groove Lounge on Soma FM. The models like that chill, and it never bothers the photo shoot.

Right, thanks for this good idea, Monster Magnet could be the next thing to put up. I am at the moment with "Flying Lesson" by Yo La Tengo. Hope it does not get filtered too much....

All day long at work it's DeepJams. net, it's only "the best place for blues, rock and jam bands on the planet" or so they say. Commercial free 24/7 and all you need is the internet address to listen, but they do pay royalties and with only 37 monthly supporters like me who send donations the future of the site has been uncertain lately.
http://deepjams.net/ - http://deepjams.net/
Local FM radio sucks big time and I haven't listened to it for quite a while now and at the house it's usually something on Napster and then it's usually Gov't Mule or anything else that Warren Haynes plays on like the Allman Bros. or a song that includes 'featuring Warren Haynes' in it's title. He's great no matter what he's playing and it's funny that when he does sit in with a band or is included in a tribute show you'll see reviews saying "but the highlight of the show was ..."
Such as the Central Park Show with Dave Matthews Band (also check out Jimi Thing and Down by the River) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwgIn3vobag - Cortez the Killer
or a Dr John tribute show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrfPHoQVvA8 - You Lie

One last link. When Peter Frampton remastered and re-released his 35th anniversary 'Frampton Comes Alive' album he included a bonus track at the end of it, and that was Gov't Mule covering https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abTjxju6YUk - 'Do You Feel Like We Do'

"On the Nature of Daylight" by Max Richter
It is, without a doubt, the most humbling, emotive, sad/hopeful piece of music I've ever heard; all of this achieved with merely 4 instruments, and apparently a skeleton key to the human soul.
Classical compositions not commissioned for films are so rare these days, and even though the track has been licensed to several films (Arrival being the most recent, and by far the most effective) this track is pure genius.
Do yourself a favor, and give it a listen. Even without any mental connection to a particular film, I can't imagine this piece would be anything less than striking.

Those who remember my recent Miles Davis/ Filmore West photos probably won't be surprised I'm listening to Jazz. Although I did very much enjoy "the British Invasion" and the "Psychedelic Era" as in Jimi Hendrix. Basically I've listened only to "Keiko Matsui" (jazz piano) for the last 2 decades, or her 1st 20 albums. She has won a few Best Jazz Piano Awards, Best Jazz Piano of the Year.
I find her music, timeless, magical, and about 20 other superlatives. Essential often to my work or driving pleasure. When I'm in Yosemite and playing her music I'm pretty much near Heaven!
slo.Metallc: "Moon" by your man is one of my absolute favorites, has often helped me get thru the day I'm sure you know what I mean

So, what remains are 4 albums (got the special pink sunburst vinyl!) of psychedelic rock.

From "wo sind die blumen geblieben" by Marlene Dietrich and "Those were the days" by Mary Hopkins I went to "Radar Love" and "Twilight Zone" by the Golden Earring. Time for something more recent: Miley Cyrus with "Inspired" at One Love Manchester.

"Stonehenge" by Spinal Tap. Yes, really. A comedy masterpiece but it works better with the visuals and a little bit of context :-)....

Saxon: Strong Arm of the Law Denim and Leather
from RYM :D Now considered to be something of a joke, given the band were supposedly the inspiration for Spinal Tap (although this has recently been denied)...

Hmmm, just checked Tidal, that is a high quality streaming service - maybe Tusk is not for you.

On an LP12 any Vinyl album should be better than a digital streamed version - compressed or not.
I do most of my listening in the car these days but have a few favourites to select:
Eric Clapton; Reptile - 'Come Back Baby' Dire Straights; Love Over Gold - 'Telegraph Road 10cc (yes; really...); How Dare You - almost anything on that but it has to be on vinyl; most of the digital versions are horribly compressed Nanci Griffith - Anything that has 'Love at the five and dime' on it Fairground Attraction; First of a Million kisses - The whole album!
I could go on and on but will dip into this from time to time.... Making me want a Vinyl set up again though...
Best regards, Neil.

I'm not listening, but if I were I'd be probably Poco, "Legacy" Yeah, I know most of provably have no idea who that is!
Maybe Canadian Brass, "Take Flight"
Then I might play a little Herbert Pixner Project.
Then some blues, Keb Mo, EC "From the Cradle", Albert King, Robben Ford, or Original Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green. Maybe, a little SW "100 Ton Chicken"? Or Johan Mayall.
If I played an LP right now it would "Auf Gehts zum Oktoberfest" Otto Ebner, or "Sing Satchmo" Louis Armstrong.
I know, no one cares, but you asked!

Most of my music starts as CDs from which I rip lossless copies which I play on a FiiO music player and a small headphone amp. It's not ultimate sound, but it does sound better than what I can get with iTunes etc. If my ears were 30 years younger maybe I could justify something blinger, but they're not.

I use Napster which was formerly Rhapsody which was formerly Napster. It's the only one I've found where you can play albums as you wish and then there's the usual playlists and stations. Nearly everything is available, every once in a while you'll have a band or one particular album that's not listed due to licensing issues but it's kind of rare, the only one that comes to mind is that Tool isn't listed, but A Perfect Circle is.
