Nice to see the inclusion of the Navajo Power Plant - and it's seemingly never ending wisps of smoke!

Yeah, it is a nice marina The number of boats probably also has to do with the time of year. This was late spring last year.

It's a stealth ship design, hard to detect on radar
its an all electric silent ship, and leaves very little wake in its path
its guns are designed for rapid fire, capable of hitting targets accurately 100 miles away
It is a scary ship

Except that if I understood https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Gun_System - Wikipedia article on that Advanced Gun System correctly, there is currently no munitions for those fancy guns as the original Long Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP) project was cancelled due to high costs.

I am aware of these articles. There are quite a few You Tube Zumwalt videos, some quite disparaging. The ship incorporates the navy's latest, state of the art technologies and is basically a floating test bed for the battleships of this next century. It has been operational in the Pacific since 2017.
When we were on the ship they took us to the forward guns (closed) and gave us the capabilities you see on the poster and I asked how far can they shoot? We were told, they can hit Sacramento from here in SF. At which time I almost fell over.

I tend to believe them, its my understanding they have the rounds that were built

But I think that it all comes down to scale. As in the new 200 B-21 bomber planes. The Obama administration was ramping down the military budget so the target 32 ships went to 3 and the price per ea of the 3 ships became astronomical, as did the guns rounds. President Trump recently got his 3/4 of a trillion dollar military budget and has demanded a 350 ship navy by the end of the decade.

We may well see a 32 ship Zumwalt class destroyer fleet, which was the original plan, at which time the price per ship may come substantially closer to its target, and price per round (projectile) may come closer its target $35,000. We'll see what gets built, what doesn't.

I was very impressed when the Zumwalt came in the Golden Gate and just slipped thru the water like a knife compared to the standard ships around it.
Fleetweek is a once a year week long event that begins w the "Parade of Ships" under the Golden Gate Bridge

Thanks Harald, Your Bodie Buddy!
