Some shots of our annual winterbivouac. These are made in the Vosges / France. Three nights in a shelter, one night in the mountaincabin of the Club Alpine de France.

All pictures made with Sony NEX-7 and 18-55mm kitlens.

The last picture is your 'humble reporter' made by my buddy!

Quit a lot of ALPHA gear, a nice collection of Sigma lenses, Dynax and M42 stuff, NEX i.c.w. Sigma's, Gitzo's, Visico's and lots of video-equipment

^^Wow, that's a bit too hardcore for me, it must be quite rewarding if you keep going back! I like the lone tree shot very much, and I hope the refuge was a little more homely than it appears in the photo (which I also really like btw)

@svjetlana: Every time I see a photo that looks cold, it's your's!

I like the simplicity and composition. Then there's all the firewood

Thank you! Nice photo with the snow and fog. I'm jealous of the snow. We only got a dusting one morning that was gone before I could get my camera out. We usually get at least one measurable snow per winter here but nothing the past 3 years.

Thanks Brian.
We had new snow today and I was out with my camera. And yes, firewood is great!

Thanks Dena.
There was very little snow this winter at lower altitudes which is not the usual. These images were taken at higher altitudes where there is a bit more but not as much comparing to previous years.

Just returned from Lapland where there was ample amounts of snow :)

Luckily there were some clear nights to hunt for aurora borealis - clear usually means cold too, but this time it was a comfortable -12 degrees.

Great series Janne, especially all the colours in #3.

#4 and #5 seem a bit bright for my eyes to depict a night scene.

Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos, I certainly had a good time taking them .

I realized I had double posted the second photo - that's fixed now. #4 and #5 had artificial light sources nearby which led the foreground to be heavily lit. I may take some time to see if some pp can be done on that.

This evening we had this winter's heaviest snowfall yet... I took my camera with me for an evening with friends, exited the bus home a stop earlier and shot a few pics in heavy wet snowfall, trusting the weather sealing of the a7ii will hold up

Cheers... Brian

Impressive views and skies Svjetlana, you live in a beautiful area and you captured it well. Like Brian the first is my favourite, it's probably the peek-through that does it for me.
