Kia ora koutou,
I need a sync app for my Mac, for my C1 catalogs (to P-cloud). I can't use the P-cloud app because it only does folders, and won't do individual catalog files. I'd also prefer something without a subscription cost.
So it needs to take a photo catalog, and sync it with my P-cloud drive without dramas and efficiently.
Any recommendations?

Interesting, free is always good.
Does rysnc synch the files or just copy them to the new location?

Check all its https://ss64.com/mac/rsync.html - options in a terminal, it's quite powerful file transfer and synchronization command tool, not just a simple file copy.
A quick tutorial: https://www.chriswrites.com/how-to-sync-files-and-folders-on-the-mac/ - https://www.chriswrites.com/how-to-sync-files-and-folders-on-the-mac/ There are many more to be found, in case you like videos: - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PIccupZAWk - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PIccupZAWk

Ah, problem solved. It turns out that the P-cloud synch function works for any type of file or folder. I can synch catalogs with just P-cloud.

So it needs to take a photo catalog, and sync it with my P-cloud drive without dramas and efficiently. There is also an application called Syncthing. I was once advised to use it, but I have not used it myself. Of course, it is sometimes difficult on a Mac, there are not many applications and you cannot add memory. I also recently read about how to transfer photos from android to mac, I found the info https://setapp.com/how-to/transfer-photos-from-android-to-mac - https://setapp.com/how-to/transfer-photos-from-android-to-mac here. I spent a long time figuring out how to transfer photos. By the way, there is also ChronoSync, but it is paid, if I am not mistaken. But it allows you to flexibly configure synchronization between directories and cloud storage, including P-cloud. So the choice is yours.
Any recommendations? |
I've done directory synchronization with rsync before. Type rsync -av --progress /path/to/local/catalogue /path/to/P-cloud/remote/folder.
