Hey Rosie, wow that bee shot is super. I didnt notice any bees or other flyers around so that must've been rare to catch! #2, you guys must've stayed longer than us to catch that with no people around - once again Im sorry to everyone if I didnt say bye, I got confused.

All up it was a great day out and both my girlfriend and me had a great time with the group, it was nice to meet you all and to take a heap of photos with friendly cameras around :)

Ill get my captures up tomorrow, ended up stopping by that park (with birds) on the side of monbulk rd (almost belgrave side - for those who go down that way) so Ill chuck some of them in the mix.

This place is probably nicer than the original, now that fall is starting in Holland. Nice to see cloggie culture abroad being put into the spot-light so well!!

I like Rosie's #4 (the horses) and #6 (the rows of red tulips),
Scott's (or is it Pat ???) #9 is great.

Didn't anybody spot ANY wooden shoes?

What's the name "Tesselaar" referring to? Is it a family name?
(In Dutch, it could refer to an inhabitant of the Dutch Island of Texel ... the 'x' in the name is pronounced as a double īsī)

So many photos, so little time - I'll pick the "best of the best" later in the week. It was a great day, lovely spring day of 22C but millions of people making it hard to get good shots at times.

Wooden shoes everywhere, but none made it into my photos I'm afraid.

Tesselaar is the name of the couple who started it in 1939 - they migrated to Australia on their wedding day in in 1939 and started doing the only thing they knew when they got here, eventually it became the largest privately owned flower grower in the country. festival has been running for nearly 4o years!

The Dyxum South Yass branch says Lovely work guys.

Perversely for a tulip festival, my fave is Rosie's shot of the Iceland poppies!!!

You guys should jump in a bus and come up to Floriade here in Canberra. They effectively turn over the largest park in the prettiest part of the town (right on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin) over to flowers and sculptures. It's enormous. I'll post some shots in a couple of days time.

Thanks Bob, Dirk, Maffe, Frank and ab012 - we did have a lot of fun, I think I got a little burnt too :(

Davor - all my photos shown so far were before I met up with you guys, so the shot with no people was around 10am and the bees were everywhere earlier!

Swoopy - I did get some clogs... will show them later in another post...

geardown - not iceland poppies, they are anemone

Some more from the morning... still all mf

Ok heres my lot... after culling a lot of missed/bad photos Im still left with around 140 shots, and some I just couldnt leave out from posting up ( I hope its alright with everyone that I show some 33 pics?!)
I tried to arrange/post the photos in a sort of timeline as we went through ( even if the first was taken when we were leaving ;) )

90% of the photographs taken with the Helios, rest with Tamron, Beercan and Super-Takumar 55.

Enjoy...
