Thanks! I'm glad you like the second shot because I'm fairly happy with it if for no other reason than it reminds me of when she's finished nursing.

On that first shot I actually had a few "silly facial expressions" to choose from - I didn't personally see this one as a near-sneeze situation but now that you mention it... Trying to go for a jokey sort of thing since the missus hates her hair like that. (And in the interest of full disclosure I was thinking of the website "awkward family photos" when I decided to develop this one!)

Paul, very nice photo, maybe a tad high on the exposure for my tastes but then that may be just it: comes down to a matter of taste at that point...

@ zfcentral: great viewer connection with this self concious boy. I like it a lot!
@SerbianAdonis, quite the contrary from Paul's shot, but you captured the mood very well
@kozmo, Good ones, I like the composition and build up of the first, only the WB seems a bit too yellow. The second is a beautiful tender moment where the B&W works really well. Might crop a bit from the left (not much happening there) but not absolutely needed.

I like the strong contrast and the loss of detail in the skin, two things I usually don't like. It simplifies the image and helps focus the attention on the captivating eyes.

@ijsvogel: I really like the softness and low contrast of this image. I feel like the bright, sharp, higher contrast area of hair on the left is out of place, like it's part of a different picture.

I'm not normally a fan of portraits when wearing sunglasses as I think it can give a cold, detatched feel.
But here it's working well in combination with the cheeky smile and as a result you can almost see the warmth in her eyes

An intriguing result and I like it
