A nice looking chap John!

One little thing that bothers me though is the angle, his left (seen from the camera) ear is bit distracting.

Other then that i quite like the expression.

You've gone the other way, adding noise to the picture. Usually people strive for smooth skin.
Sorry, it doesn't work for me.
More Dyxumer, less photographer.

Yes noise is added thru profile in DXO.

Thats's quite alright, im not restricted to what people usually do. If that where the case i would be running "eye popping" actions and making everyone look smooth like baby bottoms.

BTW skin is still smooth (in relation to the rest of the image), which has alot more to do with the lighting.

Somtimes it takes a different set of eyes, thats all.

2nd image is nice as well, still like the somewhat gazing expression in the first.

Even with the grain I still love it, even if I would choose not to use grain.

Here's one of my daughter Eloise


Its a shame how the light has caught the strand of hair by her right eye tho
