Great shots Syd. I can imagine some sounds with it. Have you ever heard the steam loc on "The Power and the Majesty" on the record of Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab ..? Try it - you'll be blown away.

Thanks for the kind comment. It was moving right along. I went specially to this cutting as it was steep and the train would be going slow,but it only had a few coaches on and it was really speeding. The sound echoing out of the cutting was amazing!

Syd, those are beautiful shots! Love them both, but if I had to pick a favoite, it would be the first!
Michele, I have that CD! And I was blown away, as were my speakers -- it was like the opening scene of "Back to the Future" !  Love that CD! You have to make sure you don't have your amp cranked when those fighter aircraft flyby!  Mathieu, what can I say, your photos are always outstanding and you've done it again! I also see that you are at it again in "Trackside with Trains"! You'll always get my vote, but I see you have some tough competition this time. Some really nice ones. Regards, Kelly |

That's great and well deserved. Too bad we can't get everyone here on Dyxum to vote for you! You and I may well be the only Alpha mount photographers that submit to Trains Magazine. I've given up on RP.net btw. Too much brain damage involved with the people that run that place. I've wasted too much time. Too bad they don't run a tight ship such as this one -- Dyxum!

Wow! Lovely, Mathieu! Nice work as usual!
We may have snow heading our way tomorrow - at least in the higher elevations, if not a little down hear in the valley! I was out shooting on the Overland Route today and got thrown out again by the same track maintenance guy that yellow carded me before. He said absolutely no photographing the UP railroad without a permit! Well, there really wasn't any traffic for the next couple hours anyway. Got a few shots chasing trains up the canyons. Beautiful weather! I really enjoyed the mountain air and our beautiful Rocky Mountain landscape. Despite that spoil-sport, over-zealous, miss-informed UP employee. I was a safe distance from the tracks and I don't think I was on UP property, but those weren't his reasons for telling me to cease and desist. Regards, Kelly |
