It is not true. Just tried my A6400 with LA-EA3 and 70-400G and it did 8 frames between [1:28.25] and [1:29.25] at the HI setting. That is the advertised 8fps.

You can use faster frame rates, but the focus is locked at the first frame of the burst.

Sony lays this all out in several places--not very simply. The A6600 is missing in that chart.

Thank you. It mentions for the A6400 "Compatible with Continuous Shooting Lo with AF System set to Phase-detection AF."
The A6600 will be the same (as it mostly is the same camera with IBIS and a different battery but no flash).
