Samples: Leica Elmar M 135/4.0

mount: M mount
format: FF
year: 1960-1965
max aperture: 4.0
min aperture: 22
elements/group: 4/4
aperture blades: 12
min focus distance (mm): 1500
filter diameter (mm): 39

additional information:
This lens has only been produced a few years, it was preceded by a Hektor 135/4.5 that looks almost the same, but is optically not as good. It's successor is the much more well known Tele-Elmar 135/4, also optically stellar but that one has a different optical construction and is both shorter and heavier.

I was able to score a very nice looking 1960 Leica M Elmar 135/4 from an auction site at a bargain price (fortunately nobody else was looking ).

Here's the first three test shots in our garden (with a Hawk Helicoid adapter), all at f4.0 wide open

Concrete doggie

Rusty rooster

Funny birds

All on an A7ii
