Wow Tim, those are some breathtaking photos... can you share what gear did you use to get this kind of magnification.
How small is small?
Well, if it's bigger than 23x16mm, then it is huge!

Hi slo.Metallic, thanks for the complements.

Yes would love to :). The body was a a900, and the lens was the Sony 2.8 macro. The magnification was with about 76mm of extention tubes, well actually an old 2x converter that didnt help much so took the glass out of it and a AMF 38mm and 16mm extention tube stacked. The lighting was two very old metz thyristor flashes, one from either side, and a sony am20 something? (sorry cant remember what it is called, the smallest sony flash).

So a bit of a hacked solution, that gave a bit of reflection from the glass window behind but was ok after a slight increase in contrast and levels...
