Hi guys,
hard to keep up with this thread
and excellent work, too.
Here my first ACR conversion, A700 +400/4.5
1. Mandarin duck
2. Crop of same shot, for the detail afficionados

we were down the lakes this morning with one of my birding buddies and he tried out how heavy my set-up (a200+300/2.8) is as i hold his equipment hehehe (canon+400/5.6).....then, suddenly an airshow just went on above us, so we shoot with each other's cam and this is what we've got:
his shot with my combo....

aa - this is the best fly-by that you've had so far. Both you and Pat got excellent shots. The lighting and poses worked well for you. These birds can be tough to shoot at times depending on the light. I like the swans landing too.
Bernd - great detail. Those mandarin ducks were made to be photographed. Do you have one of the whole bird?

Cheers Frank & aa!
Not yet, Frank, I have a couple more to be processed, it was actually already kinda dark - ISO 800, did anyone notice, btw
@aa: great shots! Difference in PP is striking, what do you use?
The Canon shot looks more natural, colour wise.
regards,
Bernd

Every time I check this thread there's something mind blowing. This time its aa's shared hawk shots and Brog's beautifully subtile Uf Uf, whatever that is. Here are 5 of mine from this week that I kind of liked.
This one seems to me to be a particularly ducky Mallard
and these were just fun
a Turkey Vulture that lit near the mallards.
