Thank you, thank you, thank you Cafe (and your new and very demanding child,) for pointing me to the White 80-200G for sale at Adorama for $849. It has just arrived: it is used (no!)with scratches on the white paint (surprise!), but it has front and read caps, metal lens shade, fitted case (yes, indeed.)

It is far less heavy than I had expected, and I already prefer it to the 70300G (which is longer fully extended.) It's a minor, but very pleasant, point that the lens extends when focussing -- but the extension is inside the lens shade, so that the whole contraption remains at a single, static length.

I am a happy puppy.

Thank you Mariani for the VG for the A700. Works perfect and the extra batteries were a plus. And thanks for shipping it right away. My daughter needed some head shots, and I found out how awkward it was to use portrait mode for an extended time.

Wanted to say THANKS to rubysky ( Matthew ) for the Minolta 300mm f4 and to Lyle G for the beercan and Tamron 70-200 2.8. You two guys were great to deal with and I would not hesitate buying from you again. When you say these are in like new condition that is as true as it gets. Also want to thank you for working with my delays due to being in deep South Texas desert and not having internet connection often or long and you understood that my word was good when I said I was going to buy these lenses.

LyleG, I can't thank you enough for selling me the Tamron 17-50 2.8. I love this lens, and it was a GREAT deal, especially since it included the three filters!

Muchas gracias!!!

Everyone, he was a pleasure to buy from, and shipped the lens/filters with VERY good, safe packaging. And he shipped express mail, exactly as promised. I'd buy from him again in a heartbeat!
