I don't do a lot of greyscale photography, but a few long exposures around my local reservoirs on Sunday just didn't look as interesting in colour.









All A77II with 16-50/2.8 and Haida Pro II ND 3.0 filter.
A1, SEL200600G, 85/1.4 G RS, ∑24-70/2.8, Hartblei SR 35/2.8, ∑70-200/2.8, ∑150/2.8,

It's a Banyan Tree, I think Ficus citrifolia, a tree which grows roots from its branches.

This specimen (the whole picture is a single tree!) is over a century old, and is very famous. It even has its own web page!:

The shot was at The Golden Hour, so there is side light on the aerial roots. I missed the best light, a cloud had moved over the sun for this shot, which is probably what makes the eerie mood.

I live close to Crescent Lake, so I go by the tree frequently.

They are currently finishing the interiors, estimated completion is the 31th of October 2016. The opening shall be on 11th of January 2017.
