I don't do a lot of greyscale photography, but a few long exposures around my local reservoirs on Sunday just didn't look as interesting in colour.
All A77II with 16-50/2.8 and Haida Pro II ND 3.0 filter. |

It's a Banyan Tree, I think Ficus citrifolia, a tree which grows roots from its branches. This specimen (the whole picture is a single tree!) is over a century old, and is very famous. It even has its own web page!: http://www.crescentlake.net/banyan-tree.html and a blog post http://stpeterealestateblog.com/blog1/2009/09/19/1147/ The shot was at The Golden Hour, so there is side light on the aerial roots. I missed the best light, a cloud had moved over the sun for this shot, which is probably what makes the eerie mood. I live close to Crescent Lake, so I go by the tree frequently. |
