There are pleanty of leading lines that draw attention to her and the softness gives it a somewhat romantic look - works well for me.
Beauty is in the EYE/FILM/SENSOR of the beholder!

Thanks Dick, that was my idea as well, but I would have liked the lady on the bike to be a bit sharper. All the rest quite soft is OK, but as the single point of attention it's a bit too vague now.

But I do like the picture, Pieter. Gives the impression of Tri-X or HP5 forced to 1600 ASA.
Quit a lot of ALPHA and NEX gear, a nice collection of Sigma lenses, Dynax and M42 stuff, Gitzo's, Visico's and lots of video-equipment

Thanks Sashi, you exactly pointed out one of the reasons why I like the shot myself as well.

Here's something similar (but not as good in my mind)


NEX6 + Super Tak 150/4

ISO 6400 and 1/100th handheld make the shot a little too soft for me, adding some PP grain helped a bit, but not enough

Very nice. I like how the eye is naturally drawn to the couple and stays there, even though it's a busy scene with a lot to take in.
Also the couple walking straight at the shooter while everyone else is walk elsewhere makes it natural that the viewer looks at them.

Not at all. Although I'm a newcomer to this Genre, I seem to be in the camp looking for human interest/emotion rather than 'Documentary' but maybe I will be swayed, who knows. Here are a few that caught my interest ...
