Excellent shooting by all since my last post. The Pacific Island shots make we wonder why I had no mid-winter break (again) this year. |

Just back from island-hopping sailing trip so thought I'd drop these in. My 7d crapped out after first day due high temps and humidity - works OK now I'm home - so the 3rd image not a 7D shot sorry

It does Brett. Akampene (Punishment Island) was where unwed pregnant girls of the Bakiga tribe (Pygmies) were sent to die... most drowned trying to swim back, some were picked up by the "lover" and the others died of starvation on the island. The practice was abandoned early in the 20th century.

The Star Trek rays on the right, and the mid left to bottom right balance, really give this one a lift. There's also an element of do I want to feel disturbed or relaxed by the scene? Edited by brettania - 24 April 2007 at 07:06 |
