I should point out that it is Grubeater who has arranged all this, so further questions should be directed at him... :-)

He has supplied some details about taking photographs inside the museum:

It's not allowed to take photographs at the Ubangi exposition.
A suppost or other museumpersonel has to be present.
No usage of flash.
The museum gets the photos for publication.
Foto Grijpink will pay the entrance fee of euro 7,50 for all the Dyxum members.
The outdoor part is normal closed after the first of November, but it will be open the tenth.

If I remember it correct... The Afrika Museum has an open air part. (or had, if I´m incorrect)

The Museum is located a little distance to the south of Nijmegen, so may be a few German Members can visit us also.
(Nijmegen is a few kilometer into the Netherlands from the German border)

The open air part will be open that day, normally it's already closed in November.

To find the location easier:

The Afrika Museum on Google Maps

You can see the traditional African buildings on the left and the museum itself on the right.

Very near to the 'Seven Hillsway' [Zeven Heuvelenweg] a famous road in the 'Nijmegen 4 days' [4 -daagse]; a famous walking event of ... 4 days ofcourse.

And famous for its seven hills run. Yeah, so what, I hear you ask ? Well if you get there early you can also that pics of a very beautiful landscape.

Operation Market Garden also took place in this area at the end of WWII. See the movie 'a bridge to far'.

And ofcourse the river Rhine is nearby with al his ships to and from Germany.

So, take your wife [or husband], your children, maybe even your mother in law but not your dog; he isn't allowed in the museum, and go.

I try to be there but ... my wife just booked a weekend in a bungalow somewhere in Drenthe, I believe but, I'm not sure. And she a way for a few days, so I'll know this weekend. Lonely me, buy the way.

So, if I'm not there : have lots of fun and if i'm there : see you there .

If you want to come, you'll have to email me at dyxum@grubeater.nl with you email address and phone number.
Foto Grijpink needs to know the number of people that are coming to the meeting.
You need a letter for the entrance-fee and that letter will be send the week before the meeting.

As said, I can't make it... would have liked to keep some lenses like the 70-200 and 135STF in my hands....

Maybe next time.

I'm sure you all have fun! Don't forget to bring your credit cards!! You won't go home empty handed.... :-) I'm pretty sure of that...

(perhaps is better I won't be able to make it...)

Have Fun!
