I stumbled across this a few minutes ago. Seems a positive step from Sony, especialy the inclusion of "Pro" level photographers providing input. I wonder if similar sites will spring up in other countries.

Here

Not much on there yet, but I hope it grows - I might even join it myself to provide a bit of support for the local product.

This is very nice!

and shows where the Sony dealers are! esp beyond Sony style (which does not hold much despite the name)

Yes - "Like no other"

Maybe Sony should adopt a new slogan: "Like whatever"

Hmm interesting, I havent tried signing up yet...

Hopefully it wont get too crappy with bashing other brands and third-party a-mount stuff. (it just feels very 'sony and nobody else', thats all).

Ah, I was just about to link to that web-site myself!
:O)

So far, Sony's way of bashing other brands has been to emphasis the positive things that Sony Alpha has that SOME other brands do not - e.g. anti-shake, wireless flash, etc.

It can still be a little bitchy but it is better than the White Paper propoganda that Canon produces.

"Anti-shake does not work..."

On accepting the following error message is supplied: Procedure or function 'iasp_sp_InsertUser' expects parameter '@strPassword', which was not supplied.

As you move off the registration page the password fields are nulled hence the error. I am sure someone will attend to it in the fullness of time.

Just poking about there. Some good news. The 70-200 SSM is listed @ $3,199.00 AUD inc. GST. Not exactly parity with the US but much better than previously.

Keith - it's $A2700 on ebay (Aus) from an Australian vendor (no import tax). Probably grey stock but considerable savings!
