I read David Fitzpatrick's review of Angle finders and the use of an Olympus viewfinder magnifier. When I was using the E-system I had one of these on my camera all the time. I have just bought a Pentax O-ME53 1.2 magnifier to fit to my A350. It fits perfectly if you don't need the Eye-start. The increase in viewfinder image size is a real benefit I think the image is now 0.89 almost the same as the A700. I wish Sony would make one of these. The Pentax item is very well designed , much better than the Olympus one.

Thanks, Glyn - that's good to know. I'll check out that Pentax.

Just FYI, Sony does make an angle finder with adjustable magnification, as well as a magnifier with 2.3x magnification of the center portion of the image. I haven't used either of them yet and I'm not sure about their street price, but they work with all Sony digital SLRs.

The Sony magnifier is not practical for everyday use. My 1.2 magnifier just gives a better viewfinder image and is left on unless I want to use the angle finder. I have a Seagull angle finder which is pretty good I wonder if the Sony Angle finder is optically much better? I used to use an Olympus angle finder which was much better quality than the Seagull albeit at a much higher price.
