Other than lightroom, what software are you guys using to ORGANIZE your photos these days.
E.g. I love the conversions DXO and Capture One perform, but they aren't great apps for actually organizing photos. Thoughts? -Zach |

Picasa does an extremely well job when it comes to organizing. I couldīnt think of anything I miss in this regard in Picasa. Itīs quick, itīs very straight forward to use and then isīt free.
Itīs also very simple and easy to upload pictures to e.g. my blog via Picasa - just one click at a bottom named "Blog this"...could it be more simple? |

Just for organising? Picasa! I find it easier to upload to picasaweb albums.

For me there's only lightroom, and I cycle (some) high iso shots through DxO but my database, keywording, renaming, and collections are all done in LR.

I just can't bare to process in lightroom, it's conversions make the reds and skintones too ugly.

I use Bibble for conversion, the GIMP, qtpfsgui and Hugin for processing and Digikam for organizing. :)

@brooklynrocket. Have you tried toning down the reds in the "calibration" section. Worked for me (but I'm more a landscape/macro shooter, so not that critical on skin tones).

Yep, I tried messing with all those settings for a long time. Never got anything even close to satisfactory, relative to what I get from DXO, Capture One, and ESPECIALLY Image Data Converter.
I like IDC the most, conversion-wise, but it's so clunky that I can't bare to use it. |

I have picasa but don't really use it much any more. I just have my images in folders by the year taken then sub folders inside the year folder with folder names identifying the content.

I use Aperture to develop, store and organize raws. And to find the exported jpegs I want to do more with I use Adobe Bridge.
