I also use Zenfolio.com. I remember when I first started looking around and signed up for a trial account, Smugmug had a lot of neat features but it was really slow to do things. That was about 2 yrs ago now though, and from the number of happy customers I'm sure its changed a lot.

I really like Zenfolio.com though. It has everything I need without going too over the top and I think the appearance looks fresh and inviting.

I wonder if any of use have experience with lima-city? There features seem very promising, but somewhere must be the catch, right?

Edit: I've found out that with lima-city you have to buy or earn some sort of virtual currency to get up/download-traffic. So there really is a catch

I use ripway.com - files download and linking to dyxum is easy. The catch - you have to access free account every 30 days or it's disabled and all photos are gone - that's why the site is called rip[your pictures a]way.

I use fotki service. It's easy to use. Have some localized version. In some country's have unlimited space for storage files. (Don't know about limitations size per file) Support multiple files upload, hotlinking images with preview to global network...
Sorry for my English.

FreeImageHosting.net took 10 seconds to upload small file for a test run.

Question is? how long will the photo stay up?
Don't you hate looking through a post only to find a bunch of missing photo's?

About smugmug and saving $:

You can save a friend $5 on a SmugMug subscription and earn $10 yourself! It's simple: have your friend enter your email address ( anssi.sajama@gmail.com ) or your personal coupon ( ZbSC4VUcPu47I ) in the 'Referred by' field on the signup form (Important: They can't enter any other information, such as your name. Just your email address or coupon).

So i think its the same for Pupator, as i cant think of him having a wors deal from smugmug than me...

Smugmug is as good as it gets. Their customer service (including the dgrin forums) is excellent, their product is great, and "they get it." That is, they understand that it's all about the photos and how to make your big, beautiful photos (and galleries) look great on the screen.

This coupon will give you $5 off your first year of Smugmug: AfVT1ZL8TROgg (I get $5 off as well, so there's full disclosure)!

OK, 3 days after signing up to SmugMug and updating many recent posts from the new host I must say I'm very happy to have jumped ship, put my pictures in a more secure environment and no longer be bombarded with all kind of adverts that I'm the 100.000 th winner.

Posting a picture is still 2 clicks more vs. Photbucket, but I think the advantages outweigh this minor drawback. There's probably a lot more options I need to start exploring. Is there a SmugMug dedicated Dyxum community ?

Thanks natamambo, I'll start playing with that tonight.

Rest of the interface and options look nice and no commercials and better copyright terms are worth the 40$/yr I think.

Peg - You need to enable sharing for the album (customise button). Once that is done and the required photo is on the screen a "share" button appears which allows you to link to a variety of sizes based on the original - with the A700 I usually reduce to about 1/3 of the original in CS# and then link the medium or the large depending on the picture. My Blue Wren (see Gallery 52) is extra large as the crop meant it started out smaller.

OK, I just started my SmugMug 14 day free trial and posted my first pic from there.

Uploading was a breeze. Is there any way to quickly link the picture from there into a Dyxum post. With photobucket you get a field where you can in copy the link including the BBcodes with one click.
Does SmugMug have a similar feature, what I did yesterday was right click the picture, select properties and pasting the web reference in the script after pushing the little tree icon. It works, but it's a lot more clicks, so I think there must be a better way, but I couldn't find it.

Thanks. I've been thinking about jumping to smugmug lately (also because photobucket is blocked from my work internet access.

Only don't want to go back and edit all my posts to link to my new picture database    . This is what stopped me jumping sofar
