Can probably make weekdays in March as long as it's not 21st March.
Just need to know which one a bit in advance to book a holiday at work.

I'm up in Yorkshire to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks in a few weeks. Thinking to head up a few days early and capture the ribblehead viaduct under the nights sky and/or sunrise (4:40am). Sunset doesn't look well paced for the viaduct but sunrise is almsot perfectly perpendicular to it. I'll almost certainly do it, but just owdnefing if anyone else was stupid enough to join me? Always better to do these kinds of things with others. Looking at Monday 27th June.

Well it’s been a while since I asked this question, but I am pleased to be able to ask again………… Anyone planning to visit The Photography Show at the NEC, Birmingham this year?

Show dates are Sat 17th to Tue 20th Sept.

The only day I can visit is Sun 18th and I’m planning to be there for the doors opening at 10am. It will be busy but every time I have been before I have arrived early which gives a couple of hours before the crush starts. One year Bob J and I appeared on their TV channel!

If anyone is going on Sun and would like to meet for a coffee please feel free to get in touch.

Brian

Attention transport geeks!

I shall be visiting Birkenhead for this event, would anyone like to join me? I've created a cities entry for Birkenhead which gives a flavour of its photographic potential. I've also taken advantage of cheap Sunday rates to book an overnight stay at the Premier Inn Albert Dock and spend Monday photographing in Liverpool.

Date: Sunday 2nd October 2022
Time: 10.00am - 4.00pm
Event: The 23rd Annual Wirral Bus & Tram Show

Split over three showgrounds at Woodside, Shore Road & Taylor Street at Wirral Transport Museum - what makes this event unique is that all three showgrounds are connected by a working heritage tramway.
Vintage Buses will be running lots of free services to various picturesque towns and villages around the Wirral Peninsula. Tram rides cost £5.00 per adult & £3.00 per child and are valid all day, cash only.

On the showgrounds will be a huge number of Buses, Vintage Cars, Military Vehicles, Emergency Vehicles, Classic Motorbikes as well as other transport related vehicles.

Seems to be an interesting event, sadly I cannot make it on that date. Next year perhaps.

Hey UK, and those living only just the other side of the channel, Dyxumers. July is almost over and before long we'll be heading into wintery weather again and asking why didn't we have a 2023 DM???

Well why not. The Oxford meet last year was really great (although oddly features in the Themed Views thread and not on the Meetings list ) and although we weren't joined by our friends from Belgium and The Netherlands that time they might be persuaded to join us again (thinking London museums and Greenwich ).

Let's start the discussion about where, and when and who. Much as I enjoy the challenges, the competitions and the vast variety of threads, not to mention the help and the information and, I could go on, Dyxum Meets are my favourite Dyxum thing. Surely I'm not alone in saying this.

Over to you...............

Hi Brian,

Great idea and especially now we are well away from the 'restrictions' of a few years ago (where has the time gone...?).

I would love to come along and catch up with everyone though, as still working, timing will be everything in the when and where I suspect. I;ll keep an eye on the thread and confirm once it is finalised?

Let's hope we can make this one a bit 'special'.

best regards, Neil.

I have Wednesday to Friday off work each week. For a weekend day I’d have to book a day of holiday.

I'd be up for it, and I'm fairly flexible on dates.

Bump! Anyone else expressing an interest in spending quality time with fellow enthusiasts to explore a location, take some amazing images (by watching what the others do ), sample the local refreshments and compare megapixels, f-stops, camera straps and bags and anything and everything else.

I think that about covers it. FWIW I can probably make it anytime with sufficient notice and prepared to travel a reasonable distance. I enjoyed my overnight in Oxford last year and had a very pleasant drink and meal with new, and old faces the evening before.

Yes, I’d like to be involved and love to see some old and new faces. I seem to have transitioned back to a lurker in last 12 months after years of contributing. Other commitments got in the way, but this might be the kick up the rear I need to get back on top of my Dyxum life :)

Working Monday to Friday, but happy to take a days leave to dedicate to photography. Second half of August is great though as most colleagues out of business so easier to drop in random day off
