If you do plan to do a Yorkshire day next year let me know, York is on the door step for myself.

I'll do that. I get up there a few times a year wiht my wife (her family is from there, poor girl!) and I often go to the NYMR. Their wartime meet is brilliant, though I missed it this year.

Hey guys I am planning on visiting an motor circuit shoot organised by LCE and Sony

I'll be setting off from my house in London at about 7am to get there early and beat the crowds. I am happy for anyone to tag along with me. There are couple seats free in my car.
It seems like an interesting opportunity to try out the new 200-600G lens and also take the pictures home with you

Sounds like a great day - I've taken shots at Goodwood before - very little to get in the way for photography... Unfortunately I have a Governor's briefing session that day, so can't make it myself...

I'll have to organise a few things but I'll make it if I can, I haven't done motorsport for a while. I'll be coming from the other way, and hoping to stay with family at Southampton.
You win or you learn, I seem to be doing a lot of learning....

Ah great!
I have never shot motorsport (have done airshows in the past, that's as close as I have got to it). This'll be a good experience for that I guess.

I wonder if there is a good meeting spot at the place so we could all meetup

I don't go to race circuits much, but one place I really like is Prescott Hillclimb which has vintage and veteran cars plus the Midland Hillclimb championship with saloon cars and old F1 cars ...
There's an event on Saturday.

Edit: I may well be there on Saturday ...

+1 for any form of hillclimbing motorsport; in the Midlands you are spoiled by having 'the big three' all within a reasonably tight travelling distance: Prescott (Gotherington, near Cheltenham); Shelsley Walsh (near Worcester) and Loton Park (Shrewsbury). This is awe-inspiring stuff, especially the single seaters but that misses the point: it's a great 'clubbie' atmosphere and you get to see some real rarities and 'specials' at some meetings, as well as some amazing car control (I do believe that a good hillclimber has as much if not more skill than an F1 driver at times). Oh - and they are great locations to practice your panning skills!

I'm now too far away to get to these but when we lived in Birmingham they were all well within easy traveling distance. Heartily recommended.

Best regards, Neil.

Sorry guys, can't make it, been doing 12 hour days all week (in the heat (excuses, excuses)) and this completely slipped my mind. But have fun and I'm looking forward to your photos.
