Isn't the official name actually the Naval Component of Belgian Armed Forces? And I always thought Belgians had larger navy than just one ship...

And while we are on subject of navies, here is picture of somewhat smaller boat of Finnish Navy: Jurmo-class troop transport U624 at Vallisaari, Helsinki

α7R + CZ 24-70/4 @ 24 mm, f/10, 1/80 s, ISO 100

_____________FLEET WEEK SF, MONDAY 10/12/15 THE SHIPS

_____________USS CORONADO LCS-4 (Crown of the Fleet)
A 1 yr old, 3 hull all aluminum catamaran which has no propellors and can go sideways. Unfortunately this is the best shot I got. The angle of photography was into a glaring, bright sun so I got mostly sun glare and shadows

It is mostly a big helicopter pad. It does shore patrol & shore support. It is not a deep sea ship. It was very impressive.
I was surprised how rough finish it has. It's exterior is not painted, the interior is not the Love Boat. There's wire ,cables, machinery hanging everywhere

1

2
The rough hull

3
Waited 2 hr's in the hot sun to board

4
Our configuration is the one at the bottom

5
The helo pad

6
The helicopter control chair

7
Officer giving tour on the Bridge, highly edited to lighten interior (remember the black curtain on the right)

8

9

10
Inside the black curtain (the war room)

11
The Command Officer giving us a briefing tour. During operations the only light here is the computer screens. He doesn't see daylight for days

12
I'm being given the once over for which I am very glad

13
We were always under guard & under watch. Sailors on watch had M-16's

14
USS Cape St. George (CG-71) Ticonderoga class Cruiser Missile & helicopter launcher

15
Officer giving us a tour briefing

16
Aft missile dock up to and including Tomahawk cruise missiles
Ship has fired several times in the Middle East

17
A little cutie stepped up and made sure I took her picture
Quite a juxtaposition

18
Forward missile dock and Bridge where we were not allowed

19
5" forward gun capable of firing 220 rounds per minute which begs the question How does that compare w the whole battleship USS Iowa?

If anyone fears the decline of the US Naval Fleet I urge them to google
USS Zumwalt

Just a tip for anyone planing to visit San Francisco. I hope you notices all the Blue Sky in these photo's. October is the best month to visit, actually sept, oct and nov
Its always Blue Sky, 65 degrees fahrenheit and 0 humidity
The worst time to visit is may june july. Its foggy, cold and windy
Mark Twain wrote "the coldest winter I ever spent was summer in San Francisco"
Thanks for viewing

They don't want these ships in the city.
The Chubasco gastanker is one of them and there I am for a week.

To bad we are all ways so far from the nice places.
