They put it in Hellevoetsluis, according to Wikipedia the former Hr.Ms. Buffel was moved there because of budget cuts in Rotterdam.

This is a picture from 2007 from the bow of the Buffel:

Google is your friend: If the Official Facebook page and web pages are correct, that ship is docked at Hellevoetsluis.

And here's a newer ship: the cruise ship MS Europa visiting Helsinki in last July

Right Peekayoh, their droppings are not very "friendly"

Here's one from Ramschip "De Buffel" in the Rotterdam Leuvehaven (next to the maritime museum) a few years ago. It's no longer there, don't know where they put it now.

LOL, nice one Pegelli, although I doubt the fishermen would describe them as "friends". After they dump all over you boat, more like the "Enemy".

Beautiful, Peter! Colors really pop and lots of detail with one of your favorite lenses! Looks like a Sidmouth is a beautiful place to visit (and photograph)! You had some nice clouds going on there but with blue skies behind them. It seems my luck here in Utah is when I have time to shoot, we have nothing but clear skies forecast and hot and dry -- go figure.

I'll keep my figures crossed and hope like hell you are correct about your A99II forecast!

Regards,

Kelly

Guess I should post a pic rather than shoot my mouth off.

Kelly,
It's nothing for Sony to release an updated A99, the tech is all there.
Take an A99 body, add a few programmable buttons.
42Mpix BSI Sensor but leave off or disable the OSPDAF.
Processor also from the A7rM2
PDAF Module from the A77M2
A camera like that would surely sell to us A-Mounters. It would be nice if there were an updated PDAF array with a wider coverage even if it was limited to faster lenses but we think we know that there has been limited R&D on A-Mount.
I think this is a minimum likely spec for the A99M2 anything above that would be a Sony bonus.
Sony have repeated on many occasions that A-Mount is not dead. It would be unthinkable for there not to be a release before very long. An A-mount usually comes in Sept/October but I suppose it could be Spring.

Peter,

I hope you are correct about a high res. A99, though I'm not at all optimistic. What if its another 24Mp sensor or 36Mp at best? We'll just have to wait and see, but I don't see it as much of a priority for Sony. Saw the additional 21mm photos, thanks!

I hear you Kelly but I do think there will be a highres A99, maybe soon and that's one reason I'm holding back from the A7rM2. Really, the only reason for me to upgrade the A7r is the abomination of a shutter; Sony should be ashamed of themselves.

I've updated the 21mm thread too.

Peter
