Glad to see mine got through, Mike, and yours was the only one I sent with a commemmorative stamp. Your card was 'official', I thought, unless I have messed up somewhere?

First card arrived!!
It is from Pieter (pegelli). When I first saw the picture I loved it - great composition with the reading man on the left adding some interest to the photo. Then I read the description and learned that the statue is of Hendrik Conscience, who was a writer and also said to be teaching his people to read, and the reading person in the picture became even more meaningful!

As can be seen, the card is in perfect condition! Thank you Pieter!!

Good to hear it arrived!

I cannot report on any new arriving cards (I'm still expecting to see two more), but I have to warn that it is possible that it can take a while longer before I have anything new to report. The cause for this is that the Postal Workers Union has announced two week strike on mail sorting and delivery services as they are not happy that Posti is transferring some workforce to a subsidiary and there they use different collective agreement that promises employees less lucrative pay. Currently it looks fairly certain the strike will start on Monday and there is even couple other Unions that are planning to provide support with their industrial actions in related operations...

On the other hand, luckily the postcards I sent should be already far away from Finland since some have already reached their recipients.

Also had another (bonus) one on the doormat today

A beautiful ladybug card from MiPr in excellent state.

The large size is 1:2 (10.521cm)
Mirek explained that the ladybug is upside down, not the card

A beautiful macro picture stamp at the back

Couldn't agree more about the usefulness of a macro lens as escape in boring environments!
Many thanks Mirek!
(a petty you couldn't convince Thamarie to participate this year BTW )

MiPr's card arrived today, a beautiful representation of a leaf against a blue sky in IR. It's almost monochrome with a beautiful tonality. Also very little damage on the card, against the light you can see a few mild scratches but looking straight it's pristine.

I'll scan it together with the last card when it arrives, but I have the feeling that Mirek really needs to post the original here as well, because the scan won't do it justice.
Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

From Steve aka MartyMoose, arrived late last week but just able to get back online now:
A stunning view of Mount Ranier hidden by the clouds. A major scuff-like apparition rising from the lake :)

Thanks Steve!

NOTE: I've been photographing the cards, so you will see some reflection from the flash, particularly for Howard's photo, that is not in the original.

I received a few days ago, from Howard_S, a street scene from Arles, France, with photos-within-a-photo (nice panning technique, and excellent travel photo):

Also, just before the weekend, I received this card from gregja (I like the use of a slow shutter speed here, and the pole making a hard rule-of-thirds vertical line):

Another card today

The botanic garden in Aidelaide as described on the back. The 2nd oldest in Australia, imported from our German neigbours.
Ik looks beautiful but desolated. Is it still in use?

The stamp we've seen before, but mine is uncanceled !

The card is in pretty good shape, although there is some ink in the top right corner at the front. The sender's name is partially hidden by a barcode sticker, but I know it is from James (aka clk23, as can be seen in the black frame of the picture as well as a nice detail)

Many thanks for sending James!
I hope you all are allright downunder with the big fires there!
