OK, I'm off, had to drop off my car for service this morning and shot my week A, day 1 while cycling back home.
Hereby a special request for the thumbnails: Pls. put your thumbnails in the order of Week A (1-29 mm), B (30-49 mm), C(60-105 mm) D(106-oo mm), irrespective of the order in which you shoot these four weeks. This will make voting and counting for the future exhibition a lot easier for us ![]() |

Mind the bandwidth of others, don't link pictures larger then 1024 wide or 960 pix high, see here

Similar scenario to me, Pieter, I collected my son's bike from the bike shop after repair and took a picture on the ride home.

And I am off. Started with the Samyang 45mm. Took it for a first serious walk the day before yesterday and a quick photo grab today and yesterday: it is sharp, MFD is bad, AF-C (FW1) is even worse, build okayish for the price I guess, bokeh is to be decided. We will see if I am gonna learn to like this little lens

And me too, as I have failed abysmally in my last 2 challenges I'm taking it easy and posting 3 for each lens this time round. First challenge for me is remembering how to post thumbnails
![]() Love the little voightlander, I've had it for a while and I've barely picked up a camera recently so brimming with enthusiasm and more than a bit rusty! Edited by bigsi - 06 July 2020 at 20:59 |

For the first week I decided to shoot with an "easy" lens, although still for some reason I have been struggling to think what to shoot. Eventually got one idea, although I'm still somewhat disappointed with the result...
But I think I'll amend my original thoughts on the lens choices for the next two weeks to little more challenging (hint: MF, but native E mount) since there is a package somewhere between Turku and Helsinki with my name... Maybe I'll try to see how 24 mm works for unboxing pictures once the package is in my hands. |

I decided to start in week A with my 28mm f2. I've not had it long and have to admit it is not to my taste, which, combined with the wet weather, makes it a bit of a struggle. I'm already looking forward to Weeks B, C & D.

With the recent second spike in Covid-19 infections around Melbourne the whole greater metropolitan area plus one adjoining rural shire have just been locked down again for 6 weeks. Everyone confined to their homes except for some daily exercise, essential shopping, care-giving, or essential work that cannot be done from home. So my horizons will be rather more clipped than I would have liked. Never mind. Could be a whole lot worse.

Sorry to hear that, Joe. It will force you to come up with some creative ideas!
I've got through 5 days at 28mm now and I misread the challenge! I thought it was 5 per lens. But it's 7. Oh no! I had been thinking about pic-a-day for 20 days but it seems its for 28 now ![]() Thanks for the site-map at the top of this thread, Harald. I think I'll add bookmark to my browser toolbar for this one! |

I am not going lie I forgot the challenge was on
![]() Luckily I have spent most of last week shooting and trying to get better with my 100mm macro. So I should be covered ![]() So my plan of following from week A to D for 4 weeks has kinda failed, but still in the game.... |

Well, week 1 is over, week A in my case and a relief it is too. I almost gave up on the Min AF 28mm f2 which was my chosen tool. It is the first time I've spent much time with it and I was hoping I'd settle in to it - as I have with a few other primes on Dyxum challenges. But not this time - the 28/2 (my copy anyway) is pretty dire wide open - sharpish in the middle and a mix of soft and OOF all around. Makes the viewfinder a trial, I wanted to stop down all the time to reassure me I was going to get a sharp image. Stopped down the results are good, but it will be a while before I use this lens again.
Now to choose which week to do next ... |

Hmmm, makes me think I might do the <29mm with the Minolta 28/2. I do not remember it that bad.
Anyway, used the Samyang 45/1.8 for the first week, I did not warm up to that lens. For the second week I decided on a Golden Oldie: Canon 200/2.8L - almost as good as the Minolta 200/2.8G and a sleeper in the Canon line-up. |

I'd be interested to see that - it's probably just my copy. |
