Stunning "big sky" Australia. I love the clouds and the contrasting colors of the landscape. No damage, but the bar code marks are more prominent as compared to Dena's card.

Thanks!

Wow, another unexpectedly quick delivery! Relatively intact too - Glad it's able to be appreciated!

Also waiting for me in the mailbox this afternoon - a view of the 'SS Rotterdam'. Great wide-angle view of the boat sitting in Rotterdam Harbour. The card is virtually unscathed by its trip halfway across the world.
Thanks Harm!

I'll scan all the cards and repost them when they're all in.

I'm delighted to have a card from @IanC that has arrived as if untouched. Perhaps it materialised out of thin air through the letterbox. Even the stamp hasn't been franked or marked.

(Apologies for the moiré patterns that have been picked up - I'll see if I can fix that later.)

The scene is in Lancashire and shows a bridge that was under water with flooding earlier this year.

Thanks, Ian!

Thanks for the additional information, Dena. I love the hummingbird you sent me, and cool to see the bigger herons in your other shot. I need to visit Arkansas one day. I've been to a few of the surrounding states -- MO (St. Louis), OK (just OKC airport, LOL), LA (New Orleans), TN (Nashvegas ), TX (Dallas and San Antonio). I haven't been to MS, but have been to AL (Huntsville) and a few other southern states. We live in a big country!

I've been learning a little bit about map projections to see how far my cards are traveling. The Mercator projection is pretty old! I think a couple of the DPE participants live near the prime meridian? Using this flat earth projection, here are the compass point limits of my travels:

N: Anchorage, AK ... Stockholm, Sweden a close second
S: Mexico City
E: Tokyo
W: Hawaiian Islands

I need to make it south of the equator one day!

In the US:

N and W are the same as the above.
S: Miami
E: Bar Harbor, Maine

@gregja, I can imagine Mad Max walking around Mt Olga. Kata Tjuta/Mt. Olga is about as close to the center of Australia you can get! Can you fly there easily, or just drive?

And yes, your cards are traveling quickly this year!

I like the idea Art Maybe we should start a seperate thread to investigate the appetite. Depending on the participants we can pick an time.

I like the idea, but I hope the GMT zone is not first thing in the morning!

Interesting idea. I do find my time zone location in the middle of the Pacific Ocean something of a damper on using Dyxum. A co-ordinated shoot would be very interesting: I'm a starter

Right now would work fine for a coordinated picture since it seems like everyone is awake -- evening in Europe, morning in NZ, midday here in California.

@Fred ... I'll start a thread, maybe when DPE settles down a little bit.

Very easy to fly there - Yulara is base camp with an airport right next to it. I can't imagine the logistics needed to keep this place running in the middle of the desert though!

I remember a same date "show your sunset" Dyxum event ... I think I suggested a coordinated shot around then, but no traction. Sounds like we could get 4 or 5 of us to get a "same time" shot!

@gregja ... looks like I need to visit Australia one day!
