Yesterday I was very chuffed to receive this email:

Hi Joe
Im very excited to advise that your image submitted for the 2021 Zoos Victoria Member Calendar has been confirmed as one of the winners! Congratulations!

You have an amazing talent when it comes to photography and our panel of judges, who are professionals within the photography industry, were very impressed with the quality of images you submitted. Were very proud to have your image representing Zoos Victoria members in the calendar."

As a member of Zoos Victoria with unlimited access to its three campuses, the main zoo in Parkville, the native wildlife sanctuary in Healesville and the open range zoo in Werribbee, I submitted a number of my photos for their 2021 member calendar competition.

This is the one that was chosen - the endangered helmeted honey eater, the bird emblem of Victoria, being captive bred at Healesville and successfully released back into the wild.

I look forward to receiving the calendar early next month.
