Howard, I like the Dali reference. Just a long exposure to soften the water to create more of a contrast with the sea stack, soft and hard. I took lots of frames so I could get one with the birds in place; combined a long exposure image for the water with the "sky" image that included the birds placed the best of my ten or twenty bird shots. Here's the original as requested.

Thanks, Roger, there's better tonality in the water in this version.

I received two cards today! Both from Texas -- xolunanoke and jvsanchez.

Here is xolunanoke's shot, a windmill in Waco, TX. It's in very minty condition, only the slightest creases that I can tell on the image side. xolunanoke is new to photography and already has a grasp on framing an image, and keeping that shadow detail. Nice work!

Here is jvsanchez's shot. It's a bald eagle he saw from the street, image taken from the sidewalk!! No eagles around here. We get hawks, sometimes falcons. I love all the detail of this majestic raptor. What's funny is for my shot I that I sent to Vincent of the SpaceX launch, I used my Tamron 200-500. Vincent used his 200-600G. Sometimes you just have to break out the big glass!! Only the slightest nicks on Vincent's card.

Thanks, guys!!

Thanks Art! Glad you enjoyed the cards. I really liked that windmill shot that Britt selected - she's new but I think she's quite talented, though I suppose I may be biased

There's nothing quite like a big hunk of glass. I had mine out again yesterday shooting an Ahinga in the late evening sun. Something powerful about using a lens as long as my forearm

Yesterday my second card arrived from Howard. Saw it here and I liked it a lot and now I've got it on print! Thanks Howard.
The card is in very good shape.

Harm vb's card arrived - The Netherlands to U.S; 24/9/2023 to 4/10/23. A decaying barrel tile roof I assume. Almost mint - just a tiny bit of corner damage (but my cat did start batting it around like a playful mouse friend!).

In re-reading my post I got a kick out first the decaying roof and then starting to say "almost mint" - the card that is. I always love contrast.

I received my 4th card today. I'm expecting 10 cards, the core 5 and 5 extras. I am 5 of 9 going the other direction.

Today's card is another 5x7, this one from @waldo_posth. I should do 5x7 next time, but I'm not sure if I could find 5x7 postcard backs.

It's a blue hour (I think) shot of the Oberbaum Bridge in Berlin with River Spree in the foreground. I love the blend of the old and the modern. I need to visit here too one day!

Only a few marks on the image, it held up very well on its long trip. Thanks, Harald!

Another nice surprise in today's mail: a postcard from KoBra64. A very attractive black bordered 50/50 reflection of an award winning residential building in an award winning garden. The only thing missing IMHO is an award for the photo . For added interest it features a man with a bicycle and a woman with a small horse

And another absolutely mint postcard. No sign of damage or machine marks at all on the face with franking and barcode marks on the back, but nothing to obliterate text.

Thank you Peter.

This brings my current tally to:
5+1 sent - 3 recorded as arrived
5+2 expected - 3 received

The DPE is turning out to be a very good year. Well done everyone
