I received @Phil Wood's postcard today, my Monday 11/13. It's a shot of a vintage flush-mounted mailbox from somewhere in the UK. Multiple maps search show me multiple Eddingtons over there I love the bright red color, and the contrast between the brick facade and the more modern one. I should do a series of USPS mailboxes now!
I'm surprised that the mail there is collected so early in the day. Thanks for the card, Phil. It's in excellent shape except for the classic postcard smudge right in the middle of the image. I would love to see what machine in the process requires that much traction to keep the mail moving!! And another example of an un-canceled stamp. So, I'm at 9/10 received and 8/10 confirmed. |

I need to scan those still, but I have received cards from Phil Wood and Maccroft. Thank you!

@mestari ... I am seriously considering getting one of those Canon Selphy portable printers so I can send custom postcards when I'm traveling, get the local cancellation on the stamp, and then off to its destination. You've proven to me you don't need a postcard back with that Canon dye sub paper!
A friend recently finished the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage in Spain and I asked him to send me a postcard. I received it the other day ... I'll have to scan and post it here. So cool to receive a non-DPE postcard during DPE season. |

I like that printer because it gives you proper quality standard 4x6" prints that you can give away the same day some family or friends gathering happened. But Canon is notoriously bad with drivers and support. Something to keep in mind. But I don't know if they even have any competition in that segment.

And here are two promised scans of cards from Maccroft and Phil Wood:
My darkest postcard in this DPE :) Very interesting picture, so much different from many others I have seen. I am eager to hear more about this picture, how it was taken, what time of day or night etc :) One could be excused for thinking post office boxes are boring, but not this time ;) Do have a look at this description, quite interesting story! Both cards arrived in good condition although the one from Phil was quite rolled up, I had to make it flat again. Right now I am only waiting for one card from nandbytes and 2 of mine were not delivered: I believe MartyMoose and Phil Wood are still waiting for my cards :/ I guess we can start thinking about those two as lost. It's been some time September 29 when those were sent. |

It's not me that's waiting, but you - for me to post your card here! And it's a very nice card seemingly undamaged by its trip from Poland - and so much steam! |

Another from the guys' Scottish trip from Fred - I do like the stamp.
The mark in the sky is a reminder to me to clean my scanner, it is not on the card, which has arrived in very good condition. [/QUOTE] |

My third and last card from Europe came from Hezu in Helsinki - a night shot with the Northern Lights. Helsinki seems so far north to a southern Englander like myself that I was surprised to hear that the Aurora is not visible throughut the long winter nights in Helsinki. However, it is only a bit north of Scotland. Apparently the Aurora has been visible from my latitude recently, but whenever I brave to cold (very rarely) to go out and look for it all I've seen is cloud.

The first card from the USA was Dena's - a lovely image that I had seen on Dyxum before. I hope they're selling well Dena.
Both cards from the US have been battered by, presumambly, the US postal service |

The final card from MartyMoose has had the most intrusive damage, a reminding me of a light leak from the film days.
I've never visited the NE USA, but have always thought it would be a nice area for a holiday - though my waterskiing days are over before they began, I could still cope with a sail on the river at Portland. |

Wow, love seeing so many great images ... the trains, from the US and Poland!
And yes, Phil, those smudges do look like light leaks on film! Ha! |
