I've always thought of the Oreston as the poor man's Primoplan. Love them both.

It is exactly that. Wide open it has lovely character and is much faster than the f/2.9 Trioplan and much cheaper than the f/1.9 Primoplan. Funny is that my first SLR was a Praktica MTL3 with 50/1.8 MC and 29/2.8 MC and I never suspected then that these lenses are ' special' wide open. The camera perished and the lenses were lost moving house, so I had to buy them once again (this time not as Pentacons but as Meyer Zebras).

Took the Pentacon Auto Multi Coating 1.8/50 on a walk in the woods today. Despite drowning in 50s, all of them objectively better, I really like it, it's "full of character" wide open (plus the bubbles of course) but changes into a completely different (read, "competent") lens stopped down. The fun is in wide open of course

Mostly I use it on a tilt adapter that allows me to turn the focus plane to get the miniature effect and is just fun to screw around with

It's to mine. That's a great shot, Fred. I like doing the same to create flower floaters.

Pity you have a challenged seller Mike. Perhaps the deal was too good to be true.

Oh yeah? Does Samsung have a shorter register of a smaller sensor? I suspect a small sensor. Do you know anyone that would want it? I'm sure my friend would sell it cheap.

My situation with the 35mm Kinon is that it is on a projector. I contacted the seller and asked if he would send me just the lens and adjust the shipping accordingly ($7). He said yes. I made an offer two dollars above his asking, making it $18, and he accepted. The shipping remained at $43.77, so I told him to adjust and send me the invoice. He said I should pay first and then he would adjust shipping. That makes no sense to me. I've tried to explain, then asked him to cancel the sale, but get no responses.

Samsung has a very short register. Accepts D-mount lenses for 8 mm film, probably also 8 mm film projection lenses.

Congrat Paul! Nice swirl with that 35mm

I took a few with my F=5cm today, which I will post in the Day prime thread.
Here's one that doesn't fit in that set.
