Not unusable, 25mm sounds like a good lens for a Samsung NX mini.
![]() Pity you have a challenged seller Mike. Perhaps the deal was too good to be true. |

A friend bought a 25mm, which seems unusable. We may have discovered the limits. |

Nice, Paul. I'd imagine that the farther out you focus, the smaller the image circle. As it looks now, I'm not likely to get the 35mm version that I bought on eBay. The seller seems challenged to understand how to complete the deal.

So, for my first Meyer shot of the year I have a new member of the family: Hugo Meyer & Co. Görlitz Kinon III f=3.5 cm. Here pictured with its big brother Hugo Meyer & Co Görlitz Kinon Superior I 1:1.6 f=5 cm , both from 1930s 16 mm film projectors (Siemens and Bauer Pantalux respectively).
1: Negative buoyancy Kinons ![]() Camera Model: ILCE-7 Lens: Ihagee Anastigmat Exaktar 1:3,5/5,4cm for Kine Exakta (1930s) at f/3.5, a rebadged Hugo Meyer Primotar Aperture: 3.5 Exposure Time: 0.017 sec (1/60) ISO: 2000 As can be seen it does not cover the APSC sensor, but I'm used to black corners and think this is perfectly OK, although I think it is slightly decentered due to gravity. The Exakta removable lens mount I use does not tightly fit the M42 adapter that I converted to receive Exakta mounts at the front. 2: Heleborus with a swirl ![]() Camera Model: ILCE-7RM2 Lens: Hugo Meyer & Co. Rear diameter is 20mm. I don't know what projector it was used for. I would never think twice for $18; I paid $36 for mine, and considered that a bargain. |

I had long wondered and finally came across one that was affordable. Mint too. I was shocked at how sharp it is at wide open. The bokeh first impressed me as nice but not special like the Primoplan, then I saw some images from it that did have a very lovely rendering. It seems important to get the distances right for that special look. |

Only on APS-C? That's what I was wondering. Does it have a small rear protrusion? I won't see mine until later this week. Is yours from an 8mm or 16mm projector? Thanks, Leo. Maybe I should have asked before I dished out the $18. ![]() |

Leo is your friend ![]() Kinon 35 is APS-C, another great swirler! Quinon must be a great lens; all Steinheils starting with Qui- are excellent but expensive. I don't have any of them ![]() ![]() Edited by darosa - 16 February 2020 at 20:47 |

I know it exists, haven't had the pleasure of using one though... |

I'm off to another slow start for 2020. Yesterday was a wonderful day weather-wise and the flowers are beginning to flourish. The bees have noticed too. I am yet to be disappointed with my Kinon photos. Speaking of which, has anyone tried a 35mm Kinon Superior? Maybe Leo? I've just purchased one.

And me too. Primoplan remains at the top of my favorite lists. I recently acquired a 1.9/55 Quinon which is also quite nice. It is amazingly sharp wide open and bokeh can be very special in some situations. Has anyone tried the Quinon? |
